The ruins are absolutely uninteresting like the tiny room where are presented the rare objects found. During my whole visit I was followed by a guard who was watching me all the time, it was ridiculous and very unconfortable. Do they think I will steal a 50kg/110lbs stone? The only interesting thing is the view on the sea

There is a beautiful church with a beautiful view of the Aegean Sea. The trekking itinerary leads to the top of the hill, where you can visit both the monastery and the mycenean acropolis with its museum. The flora is peaceful too.

We never got to see it. Went online on Monday and read that it is not open on Mondays. So, we went on Tuesday. Guess what, closed on Tuesdays. And it wasn't just us. There was a whole group of tourists and a few individuals who had the same issue. Later in the day I was given a tourist's booklet about the island for 2019. In there, it also said that the archaeological site is closed on Mondays. Great work to all who are responsible for promoting tourism in Greece. You did it, again. Congrats to the mayor for the misleading booklet as well.

Ancient era Sifnos is not well know which makes the visit well worth. Entrance is affordable (2€ in 2017) and walking around the Acropolis can be overwhelming if one considers its age and the people who lived there. Also, the view is absolutely breathtaking!

Be sure to make the effort to visit! There is a bus that goes from Appolonia three times/week (Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday), which returns just over an hour later. That is enough time to view the wonderful archaeological collection in the on site museum, and then to tour the Acropolis and monastery. The view is remarkably stunning and beautiful.

nice view, the site is ancient and there is almost nothing to see, but you should read the history of the settlement and the island

Very interesting ruins and findings from Mycenaean ages! A small museum where we found George who gave us a private tour!
