Oικοδομήθηκε στα 1870 όταν ο επιφανής τραπεζίτης Στέφανος Ψύχας αποφάσισε να κατασκευάσει την πολυτελή του οικία σε μικρή απόσταση από τα Ανάκτορα. Ο Τσίλλερ συνδύαζε το καινούριο νεοκλασικό ύφος, που αναπαρίστανε τα ιδανικά και τον ρυθμό της κλασσικής ελληνικής και ρωμαϊκής αρχιτεκτονικής, και την ακρίβεια της γερμανικής αρχιτεκτονικής.
Neoclassical building designed in 1870-1875 by the architect Ernst Ziller and since 1955 houses the Embassy of Italy.
It was built in 1870 when the famous banker Stefanos Psychas decided to build his luxurious house a short distance from the Palace. Ziller combined the new neoclassical style, which represented the ideals and rhythm of classical Greek and Roman architecture, and the precision of German architecture.
