while the retreat area is absolutely beautiful, the staff was not supportive about our ac not working (they didn't believe us for several days). also, the yoga teacher sent us away for wanting to participate in a bikini because it might make others in the class (men) uncomfortable. in 2021. in a beach resort where people wear bikinis or are topless all day. it looks beautiful on the outside, food is good but it's like rotten on the inside.

I was put in a room all the way up in the woods. There are hundreds of stairs and you need to cross a public road to get to the pools, restaurants, and beaches. Much worse than that, the room had many bugs and spiders in it. My girlfriend woke up with several bug bites on her legs overnight in her sleep. That was disgusting and unacceptable. I asked to be moved to a room in the actual hotel but they could not accommodate me. I told them I couldn’t stay in those conditions, and that was not what I signed up for, but they would not do anything for me. I checked out after the first night and they would not even refund me any money. No thank you. I won’t be back. You could have restored my faith at the time, but you chose not to. I had to leave and find another hotel last minute in a foreign country. Unfortunately those bugs were already in the room. I didn’t open the windows. As for the 135 steps yes I did find that in the website after you pointed it out but it was not very clear. I saw a beautiful hotel and facilities so I booked a room. That’s not what I got. Also, 135 steps from where?? Not the pool or ocean. That would be a few hundred steps and then across a public road. Lol… thanks but I won’t be back.

F Zeen is an Oasis. It is situated on the hill overlooking Lourdas Beach which has soft sand and gorgeous clear water on the south side of Kefalonia. The staff there provided excellent service from Athina and Padro at the front desk, Adonis at Selina, Yeti at the beach desk and Christina, the house keeper all so helpful and professional. They were very good at arranging rental car and a private boat trip for us. We stayed at the Superior Raw Retreat room that has a deep plunge pool and a beautiful view of the Ionia Sea. The room itself isn’t that big but it is tastefully designed with nice touches such as a reading nook and the glass in the shower with a view of the Ionia Sea. The outdoor seating is big with a large lounge chair, table and chairs for eating and two sun lounging chairs. Love the different types of basils and flowers surrounded our outdoor patio. The landscaping of the hotel is exceptional and serene full of fragrant local flowers, olive trees, fig trees and their gardens full of herbs and local produce. It’s such a joy walking through the property. There are three different pool areas and property is spread out. So you have complete privacy. Food was delicious at the Selini with the fresh local ingredients. Our flight to Athens was not until late afternoon. The hotel prepared a hospitality room with two showers for us to use after we checked out. Kefalonia is a beautiful island with lots to do and gorgeous beaches. People there are lovely and friendly. We had an amazing and relaxing time at F Zeen and thanks to all the staff there. Can’t wait to go back!

My experience unfortunately did not get off to a great start. Having said that I do want to stress how amazing and supportive the staff here are and I left feeling really looked after. When I arrived to my room I had seen an ant crawling on my table and killed it. I left an empty sandwich packet from lunch on my table. Upon coming back from dinner I arrived to an infestation of ants not only inside the packet but around my desk area and also all along the couch where my clothes were. I called reception to mention this and one of the girls was laughing at my expense which really took me by surprise. Having mentioned this to her later when I saw her she was utterly appalled at herself and embarrassed. I was told the situation was made light of and that it wasn’t a case of laughing at me. Defiantly I said that if she was to eat an undercooked meal at a restaurant and a waitress laughed at the situation I don’t think she would have appreciated it. She agreed and I felt she was overly friendly after that experience. I was told that a cleaner would come to spray the infestation and that it would be the case to sleep the night in the same room. I asked to change rooms but was told this wasn’t an option as the standard rooms were fully booked. I explained that I felt distressed by the experience and didn’t want to be in a room that was sprayed with chemicals and couldn’t leave the balcony door open in case of mosquitoes entering. I was greeted with some mosquito repellent and plasters which I was not pleased about. I was told to check the room once the cleaner had finished and was sent with a receptionist. Once we entered the room I noticed 2 ants crawling on my bed, one on my pillowcase. By this point I had to go back to reception distressed, exhausted from a long day of travelling and desperately wanting to go to sleep in a clean room. I explained that I refused to sleep there the night and was told I would have to pay to upgrade my room and that I would expense it rather than it being offered to me. As it was not any fault of mine that there was no other standard rooms available I was left unimpressed that I had no choice but to expense it myself. I paid and upgraded my room but felt frustrated at the lack of compassion given to the situation. Even though the receptionists agreed with me and I kept being told ‘if I could authorise the hotel to expense it I would’ I was told that this was hotel policy. Having met the manager the following day I was disgusted that he explained that ant infestations are completely normal if there are any food traces. He explained that cleaners would come to spray the room and customers would go back. How could I sleep with the knowledge that there are ants crawling around on my bed? If only the ants in sight are killed what about where they are coming from? I was not offered any compensation and he was happy for me to leave this review. On another occasion I ordered room service and left my tray of food on my bed. I did not come back to ants flooding my tray of food. Therefore I’m left trying to recoup the money and feel out of principle it was not an expense I should have covered. Following this incident the staff were so supportive and friendly to try to ensure the rest of my stay was enjoyable. However I did not start my holiday feeling relaxed, I felt stressed and angry and explained that I came to switch off. Having spoken to other people making friends on the resort they were so surprised at my experience and completely agreed with everything I said. I am very mixed as despite the manager‘s repugnant response, I did manage to enjoy the rest of my trip and was well looked after by the restaurant/poolside staff. Even though I would not rule out going back as I loved the fitness classes, I would be extremely wary that the manager does not look after you if something goes wrong and explains that it is ‘hotel policy’ with every excuse. I have read similar review experiences and was hardly surprised. Not a treatment you would expect to be given to you at a 5 star hotel.

Fantastic place, beautiful setting, great food and great service, but I'm taking two stars off because they really need to sort out their parking area. it's small and they have absolutely no control over who parks where, and unfortunately we cannot count only on guests having common sense of leaving their keys in reception when they park blocking another car. After a great stay, our impression of the hotel was tainted because we nearly missed our flight due to another guest having parked blocking our car, and staff having no idea who they were and taking ages to locate them (we were standing in the car park all ready to leave and waiting for 50 minutes). I'm not sure what's more shocking, the fact that someone (the car driver) would be so inconsiderate of others, or the fact that a five star hotel doesn't have a grip on this kind of thing and would be so desorganized to the point of subjecting guests to such unecessary stress.

I have given 3 stars as we visited 2 years ago so the appalling service and shoddy room service can't and shouldn't be held against them 2 years later as it may well have improved, the latest reviews certainly suggest it has done so. Had I reviewed at the time it would have been a 2 at best. My one biggest gripe though is that the "private pool" that we paid a huge amount for is far from private. It is for your own personal use, yes. However it is overlooked by two neighbouring apartments balconies. Which were often smoked on causing a horrible smell of smoke on our patio. The communal pools are lovely, as is the restaurant and the restaurant staff were always excellent. The food was brilliant. I'd not recommend a private pool unless you're happy to be overlooked by others though. It certainly wasn't worth the extra cost and had we known we wouldn't have visited as a private and non overlooked pool was an essential want for our holiday.

What an absolutely amazing experience. The rooms were fabulous, the staff exceptional and the facilities beyond expectation. Absolutely everything surpassed our expectations. The number of classes available was incredible but you could just as happily spend the day by the pool sipping cocktails or swimming in the sea. The food in the restaurants was also exceptional and the guests were all incredibly friendly. And the spa... 5 stars! We will definitely go back. Congrats!
