★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice place to visit close to Heraklion. Not many steps to get to the cave, you can do it in 10-15 minutes the most. Very nice atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The nature and the small lake is very beautiful. The cave seems small but it might be very deep and it appears to have a permission to explore the inside of it. There are rock carvings too. It would be better to see less of trash.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not sure if what we saw was the right cave. If it was then its very small and not worth it. But forget the cave, the whole area and pathway along the river is beautiful. There are dozens of turtles in one of the ponds. Its cool and shady and a great place to spend 2 hours. To get there just follow the brown signs and you best park the car beside the hut at the end of the road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place , we went at the end of April it wasn't too crowded, not far away from the city of herakleion you have to walk about 5 min to go down to the lake hopefully we didn't saw any fairys ✌️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never did find an actual cave other than a service cave with gate. But it is a nice place.
Be advised. it's a little difficult to get down too, so if you have mobility issues I would not recommend this place. The path is uneven and a little dangerous in places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place to visit .A big gorge with a small river in the middle big rocks and trees with a lot wild life.to reach the place you have to park your car 500 m away and walk on small rocky pathway but the beauty of the place worth it since is totally fantastic and unique.It is very nice for children also but a little tricky mostly at winter time.
