★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This statue is on a hillside. It is quite well signposted but at one point I wasn't sure if I had gone the right way because the path became really bumpy. However I continued and after a short walk the path became even again. The statue is well preserved and the view across the countryside is stunning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice area out of the sun and an interesting place to explore. Only one kouros required a hike up into the sun. It is an adventure and interesting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have visited this place on a MTB Tour via Agios Thalelaios. A parking place can be reached next to the village of Agia Paraskeni. From there, it is a nice footwalk and hiking up the hill of Faragi. You won't miss the place: signs can be seen all the way on the road or the dirt way up the hill. Wonderful flowers when you are here earlier in the year. There are two unfinished gigantic statues - called Kouros. The first can be seen after 10 minutes and the second, the Kouros of Faragi, will follow after 30 minutes light walking up the hill. Very impressive and wonderful scenery on the hills. You almost breathe the ancient times. There is a nice dirt road directly from the parking place to the village of Melanes whith its ancient aquaducts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting remains of the marble extracting Quarry site in Naxos with remains of the unfinished Kouros of Faragi. This is the second Kouros in the area and relatively hard to reach as you have to walk uphill and follow the small path leading to the site.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Faragi Kouros is the second kouros and is difficult to find it! First of all take lot of water and have proper shoes. It is 15 minutes hill walking under the sun. You walk on the main path (concrete made) and you locate a fork path with a marble sign written with pen that indicate your direction to the right and up to hill. If you lose the sign the path ends after 50 meters. Stone made steps drives you to ancient quarry. You can stop here if you have already visit the first kouros and you dont want to get tired (and have a little adventure of course).
I think the second kouros has great archaeological interest but its not more exciting than the first one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very excellent. If you like statues that look like rocks then this is Naxos hidden gem. Was pleasantly surprised by the 2 feet nearby - make sure not to miss them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a good little hike compared to the one down by the road but it's definitely worth the walk.
You'll go through 2 gates in the way to it and they just say to kindly unlock and close behind you.
Very neat to see how this one was once standing and broke at the feet. Very cool historical site.
