The restaurant is located in a beautiful place. The dishes are very good. The dishes are unfortunately (the starters) small and therefore quite expensive for the region. As for the service, don't expect anything exceptional. No goodbye, the dishes have arrived while the starters have not even been cleared. You need to review your service skills.

A very, very welcome addition to the food and wine scene in Kalamata. Perfect location, great service, high quality food and wine, a good selection of vegetarian dishes, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

A very good wine list of wines by the glass - all interesting and showcasing a lot of unusual Greek wines

We visited yesterday Foino which caught our attention by the nice location while its friendly stuff welcomed us on site. The dishes were excellent and such was the wine. The cooker was very attentive and shared with us details of the plates that we ordered. Offcourse, the price is adequate to the quality that you are having since all materials are of bio messinian origin. Definitely a place to recommend. 5 stars are alligned to the whole experience.

Salad was good and so was wine . After that very disappointing. Squid was way over cooked . Was disappointed as was looking forward to it after the review s. Food in Greece is fantastic in simple restaurants. This was very overpriced for the portions and quality

Foino is undoubtedly a superb bistro for the city of Kalamata.! A rare find that was very much needed in a region with A class raw materials but unfortunately lack of creative but meaningful ideas in the food scene! The chef managed to take us on a culinary trip to Greece when we visited the restaurant he used to work in, in Notting Hill, London (Mazi) a few years ago… Everything we tried at Foino managed to do the exact same thing too but with the effortless sophistication and elegance that a top London restaurant would do. Very pleased to have dined at Foino and would highly recommend to anyone in pursuit of a memorable night in Kalamata!

This is the best restaurant in Kalamata without a doubt, and one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. The owners are very kind and hardworking, and Dimitra is especially helpful and amazing. She helped me practice my greek, but more importantly, she knows her food and can suggest the perfect wine pairings. I went on two nights because I liked it so much the first time. The pie of the day (zucchini, when I was there), is exceptionally fresh and seasoned with a medley of fresh herbs. I also had the prawn risotto, which was prepared very well; the rice was the perfect texture. I finished with the strawberry pavlova, which had the perfect consistency. I drank a very fun orange wine with notes of brandy and black tea, a white wine, and a dessert wine, all Dimitra’s suggestions. On my second night at Foino, I had the artichoke croquettes (amazing), the gnocchi (absolutely perfect: a medley of different cheese and sage), and their take on tsoureki, a popular Easter sweet bread. With the gnocchi, Dimitra suggested a greek gewürtztraminer, which I thought would be too sweet, but it had the brightness and acidity to complement the various cheeses in the dish. My Favourite was the tsoureki, filled with a fondant of mahlab and mastic, so the flavors are so unknown and unique to most palates. Foino is an incredible dining experience; I’m so fortunate and lucky to have been there even once!!
