Διαβάζουμε στην ιστοσελίδα του Καστρολόγου: O πύργος κτίστηκε τον καιρό που η οικογένεια Δελαρός ήταν κύριοι του Δουκάτου των Αθηνών (όλο τον 13ο αιώνα μέχρι το 1311). Οι Δελαρός (DeLaroche) ήταν Φράγκοι εκ Βουργουνδίας. Ο πύργος ήταν μέρος ενός δικτύου πύργων που ήταν σε οπτική επικοινωνία μεταξύ τους. Το δίκτυο εξασφάλιζε την άμυνα και την έγκαιρη ειδοποίηση σε περιπτώσεις εχθρικών επιδρομών. Εκτός αυτού, ο πύργος σίγουρα χρησίμευε και για την επιτήρηση των κτημάτων της περιοχής και πιθανότατα ήταν και ενδιαίτημα κάποιου τοπικού άρχοντα. Η κάτοψη του πύργου είναι ορθογώνιο 8,36μ✖6,34μ. έχει ύψος 8,5 μέτρα και έχει δύο ορόφους. Κάποτε είχε τρεις ορόφους αλλά κάτοικοι της περιοχής από πολύ παλιά χρησιμοποίησαν υλικό από τον πύργο για να χτίσουν τα σπίτια τους. Επίσης υπήρχαν και πολεμίστρες που σήμερα δεν σώζονται για τον ίδιο λόγο. Η είσοδος ήταν από ένα μικρό άνοιγμα στη νότια πλευρά διαστάσεων 1,29μ✖0,84μ στο 1,5μ από το έδαφος. Το δάπεδο του ισογείου (καλυμμένο με μπάζα είναι 0,80μ από το επίπεδο της εισόδου. Η οροφή του ισογείου είναι θολωτή και σε ύψος 2,90μ από το δάπεδο. Στον ανατολικό και δυτικό τοίχο υπάρχουν σειρές από 12 μικρές τετράγωνες τρύπες 20 εκατοστών περίπου, σε κανονικά διαστήματα που μάλλον στήριζαν κάποια ξύλινη κατασκευή. Στη ΝΔ γωνία ένα άνοιγμα οδηγεί στον επάνω όροφο. Και σε αυτόν τον όροφο υπάρχει από μια σειρά με μικρές τετράγωνες τρύπες στους δύο απέναντι τοίχους. Ένα άνοιγμα στη ΝΑ γωνία οδηγεί στον πιο πάνω όροφο, αλλά εδώ τελειώνει ο πύργος και υπάρχουν μόνο χαλάσματα. Από αυτό το άνοιγμα κρέμονται σχοινιά, προφανώς κατάλοιπο πρόσφατης απόπειρας ερασιτεχνικής εξερεύνησης του πύργου. Ο όροφος πάνω από το ισόγειο έχει και παράθυρα που αρχικά ήταν πιο μικρά και διαπλατύνθηκαν με πρόχειρο τρόπο μεταγενέστερα. Υπάρχουν δύο παράθυρα στο ανατολικό τοίχο και από ένα στον βόρειο και στον δυτικό. Στα αριστερά της εισόδου εντός του πύργου, υπάρχει πέτρα ( μέρος του τοιχώματος ) στην οποία υπάρχουν πολλά σκαλίσματα στα Ελληνικά. Η χρονολόγηση της επιγραφής δεν μας είναι γνωστή. Οι τοίχοι του πύργου ενσωματώνουν υλικό από αρχαία κτίσματα. Στο λόφο υπάρχει και ο βυζαντινός ναός των Παμμέγιστων Ταξιαρχών φτιαγμένος και αυτός από αρχαία ερείπια. We read on the website of Kastrologos: The tower was built during the time that the Delaros family were masters of the Duchy of Athens (throughout the 13th century until 1311). The DeLaroche were Franks from Burgundy. The tower was part of a network of towers that were in visual communication with each other. The network provided defense and early warning in the event of enemy incursions. In addition, the tower was certainly used for the surveillance of local estates and was probably the residence of a local ruler. The floor plan of the tower is rectangular 8.36μ✖6,34m. has a height of 8.5 meters and has two floors. It once had three floors but locals have long used tower material to build their homes. There were also loopholes that are not saved today for the same reason. The entrance was from a small opening on the south side measuring 1.29m ✖0.84m at 1.5m from the ground. The floor of the ground floor (covered with rubble is 0.80m from the level of the entrance. The roof of the ground floor is vaulted and at a height of 2.90m from the floor. On the east and west walls there are rows of 12 small square holes of about 20 cm, at regular intervals that probably supported some wooden construction. In the SW corner an opening leads to the upper floor. And on this floor there is a row with small square holes in the two opposite walls. An opening in the SE corner leads to the upper floor, but here the tower ends and there are only ruins. Ropes are hanging from this opening, apparently the remnant of a recent attempt at amateur exploration of the tower. The floor above the ground floor also has windows that were initially smaller and were widened in a rough way later. There are two windows on the east wall and one on the north and one on the west. To the left of the entrance inside the tower, there is a stone (part of the wall) in which there are many carvings in Greek. We do not know the date of the inscription. The walls of the tower incorporate material from ancient buildings. On the hill there is also the Byzantine church of the Greatest Brigadiers, also made of ancient ruins.

Αν βρεθείτε στη περιοχή, αξίζει μία βόλτα. Αφήστε το αυτοκίνητο μπροστά στο εκκλησάκι και μετά με τα πόδια υπάρχει μία ήπια διαδρομή λιγότερη από πέντε λεπτά. Access to the upper floor is difficult. There are clothes and blankets on the ground floor so ask for safety before entering, if anyone is inside. If you are in the area, it is worth a walk. Leave the car in front of the chapel and then on foot there is a gentle walk of less than five minutes.
