An authentic Cretan tavern, very kind and funny owner, traditional food cooked by his mother, very good raki, I highly recommend ..

As many other visitors already mentioned, the gianniko is very friendly. The restaurant spreads a warm and cosy atmosphere, despite the small street nearby. I followed the recommendation of Gianniko and found the dishes tasty. After the meal we got a small dessert on the house and some hints for good sightseeing spots

One of the best dinners in my life. Wonderful service with humour and many laughs.

Awesome place, with excellent food (chicken souvlaki was perfectly cooked) and housemade meatballs. We were the only ones at the restaurant and had best hospitality. Best food and people you always find in the villages not in the touristic seaside places. Recommend!

Been a few times during our holiday. Every time been excellent, incredible food and drink and realy reasonably priced. €80 for 4 having beers, starters and mains. Great atmosphere and owner Yannis is so friendly, welcoming and grateful for our company. Must visit if nearby.

We went here on our last night of our trip to Crete and it was hands down one of the best meals we had in our two weeks in Greece! The atmosphere eating under the lights at night was beautiful and the food was to die for. I had the rabbit stew on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Well worth a stop!

Left where we were staying in Rethymno to eat here two nights in a row, for an authentic Cretan meal and it did not disappoint. The 4-generation family-run restaurant was one of our favorite meals we had while in Crete. The moussaka and meatballs were our favorite, but loved everything, also the honey and cinnamon infused raki!

Gianni’s place is brilliant. He’s the warmest friendliest host you could find and serves up lovely traditional homemade food along with great tips for sightseeing. Whether sitting outside on the terrace or in the cosy taverna you’ll have a great meal. Totally recommended
