★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like others, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We count ourselves fortunate to discover this place for a taste of Cretan hospitality. A very friendly and helpful owner Adonis. Since we were visiting during the off-season (early April), we ate off-menu - whatever seasonal dishes the owner and his mum recommended and cooked up. Very fresh authentic dishes - some ingredients were plucked right out of his garden. Prines is full of local shepherds and olive trees so you will get the freshest of olives, cheese, tzaziki. A very popular tavern with locals, so this would be a great place to experience the real Crete away from the tourist traps.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were in Prines for 5 days and ate at this restaurant on 3 occasions. The food and the service was amazing. We felt like we had been welcomed into Adonis’s home to eat and chat. We met his mother and father and wife. It was one of the highlights of our trip !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stumbled upon this place, the taverna was full, however a table and 2 chairs were made up for us. And then came the most wonderful food we've had in crete, the highlight was the baklava, homemade in the heaven of his mum's kitchen ?. Go and enjoy a culinary experience ??
