Goldcar - Ag. Anargiron Street

Usually I don't write many reviews but they deserve it. Took a try with all these negative reviews and it was smooth and pro renting a car with them in Athens airport. A bus was waiting in mentioned destination. 10-15mins for the documents and formalities to sign and the car is yours. I booked directly with them and picked up medium insurance to cover car scratches with 300eur deposit for Toyota HRV. The car was almost brand new with 3000km+ only and hybrid. Only 2wd but done the job well on paved and not paved scary mountain roads (road to Neda waterfalls an example). Return was also quick, had a flight on 10:20 so was just on the opening of office on 8:00. There were also at least 3-4 cars waiting for return but it took no more than 20min and some 10mins for the drive to the airport. Deposit was released after 3 days. My recommendations is to book directly, obtain credit card if you don't have it, and take car scrathes insurance if you are planning to use any ferry as there is very tight there and if windy someone could slam you car unexpectedly.

Booked a car from this company and decided to tell us they need an international licence and how it was in the small font. Did not even give us a full refund. Company takea your money and thrive in their buisness. AVOID THEM. Interesting how none of the car rentals in the airport dont need an international license. Give me my money back!

COMPLETE SCAM! Buyer beware. They will fake damage to charge you extra money. Something you could not possibly expect to see before you rent the car. Their low rates get you in the door, and they use rude, high pressure tactics to get you to purchase the additional insurance. When you decline, that's when they peg you with some sort of "damage". I thoroughly inspected the car before we left. When we come back, The person receiving us did not greet us or anything. They stood far away and stared while we unloaded the car. As soon as I approached him, he coldly walked over to the door and went straight for the driver side lock and pointed out that there was damage. There wasn't any. He said he could clearly see that someone tried to break into the car. He said there should be a little metal piece inside the lock which was missing. If this were true, this would never be anything that any reasonable renter could be expected to see upon an inspection. He was very rude, indignant, raised his voice to try to get me to stop arguing with him. I refused to sign any of the documents. Then they charged my credit card over €200 for the damage that I am sure is still there and will never be fixed as the next poor sap runs the car. Don't rent from these guys. It's not worth it. Stick with the main rental agencies.

They tried to pawn off a broken key lock on us when we returned the car. Claimed we were responsible to check every functional component of the car when we picked up the car. We never used it, only used the electronic unlocking. Be aware. Dealt with Nick, rude and shouted over us.

Do not use them! Shocking customer service! Absolutely, unacceptable service, communication, administration. I wish i could leave zero stars. I prepaid for the car and they were supposed to pick me up from Athens Airport. They never came to pick me up with the shuttle bus. My flight was delayed. I tried to call them twice before taking off and they weren't answering the phone. They do offer the out of hours service with extra charge, but they decided to leave me at the airport with my one year old and my three years old children. I landed at 9:45pm instead of 9:10pm. They knew that from my flight details. This is their job. To track the flights. They close at 10pm. They had my flight details, my phone number and they didn't call me. I tried to get in touch with them many times the next day but they were not answering. I did numerous calls since landed, but no answer. They just kept the money and they never called me to see where I am. Just a courtesy call. They had been paid anyway. My sister was at their head office at 9:40pm, to drop the car seats for my children, so i can continue with my trip. They told her that they did their last pick up from the airport and they are not due to make another one. That was at 9:40pm. I need to point out again that they close at 10pm and they offer out of hours service. They actually kicked her out because they had to close the gates. What a joke! How limited service is that? I had to pay a taxi to take me to Vrachati in Corinth, 97euros. By the way, there was another guy who was looking for Goldcar shuttle bus. They let down two bookings. Who knows? Maybe more. Utterly unacceptable! Never again.

Transit from the airport in addition to a short wait was without problems, the rented car was better than ordered and only reasonably little more expensive, the car was newish and in excellent condition, serious dealings in the rental, return of the car was correct and fast, staff very polite, money for a paid deposit on car and the petrol deposit I had credited to my account surprisingly on the day the car was returned! I was very satisfied with the GOLDCAR services!

Everything worked as promised and we got a car we liked. After getting to the off-the-airport office the check-out and check-in were quick. The price was very good, but the insurance options are confusing, especially after we already paid for extra insurance at the time of the booking.

I have booked car from Goldcar twice. One time a Panda and one time a fiat 500. Check out progress was both times smooth... I did not do any damages, and they did not charged me extra. Stuff was friendly They do have an aggressive strategy, trying to sell you an insurance when you pick up the car, but it is ok with me, I am driving carefully so I did chose not to pay extra for it. I would recommend it to a friend, because they are cheap and have good quality cars. Important to mention that they are not in walking distance from the airport, so you have to wait for pickup.
