Athens Car Rental - ACR - 3ο χλμ Λεωφόρος Μαρκοπούλου

We have rented a car from ACR Car Rental in Koropi few times. Every single time, the communication has been excellent and they have gone the extra mile to help us have a smooth rental experience. Car had no issues and was well taken care of, and the process was very smooth and quick. We communicated via email many times before arriving in Greece and everything was as described. They even dropped us off at the airport when we returned the car. Highly recommend!

When I first looked at renting a car in Athens, I used several online sites to find the best deals. However, the companies all received very bad reviews. I used Google to search for some other options and I am SO GLAD that I did! Thankfully my search found a small company called Athens Car Rentals (ACR). They were not showing up on the big online rental search sites (Expedia, Booking, etc.), so I was a little worried, but after reading all the fantastic reviews of ACR, I decided to give them a try. It was not a perfect experience, but it was definitely one of the best car rental experiences I have ever had in Europe!! Pros and Cons: - PROS: * They meet you at the airport with your car, so no need to take a shuttle. This made the pickup and return extremely fast. * They do not try any hard-sell tactics, to get you to upgrade, or to buy unnecessary insurance. * They speak good English (good for us non-Greek speakers). * They respond to emails and answer the phone promptly. CONS: * The person meeting us at the airport was late. We were very worried as we could not find anyone waiting for us. There were 25+ people holding signs for other people, but nobody with our name! Finally, we called their office, and we were told that someone would be there soon, and they did arrive shortly after that. * We specifically reserved a "Category C" car (compact), as roads can be narrow and parking is much easier with a small car. The car we received was a much larger "Category D1" 4-door sedan. I'm sure they thought they were doing us a favor with this "upgrade" but we would have preferred a smaller, more fuel-efficient car. Since you are met at the airport with the car, it would be difficult to trade it for another one, so we just took the car as is. It worked out fine. If I rented from ACR again, I would contact them and confirm the car type that I want. * The car we received had 44,000 miles and a lot of paint chips and scratches and other small damage, on nearly every panel of the car. It took a LONG time to go all around the car and document every piece of damage. When we returned the car, I was asked about some damage that was not documented. Fortunately, I took my own set of photographs at the airport, before leaving with the vehicle, and I was able to show them that the damage existed before I received the car. TAKE PHOTOS!!! (you should be doing this every time you rent a car anyway) - These few "cons" are really small items. I'll say this again... this was the BEST experience I've ever had in renting a car anywhere in Europe, and I've rented a LOT of cars. I would definitely rent again with ACR!

Just got back from Greece. After a great deal of research and reading reviews, we chose Athens Car Rental. They were perfect! We had been on a land/ islands organized tour and then stayed an additional 3 nights to drive north to Meteora. Realizing ACR is located near the airport, we requested picking the car up and drop it off right at their location avoiding any airport traffic. They were totally accommodating and very professional. The car was clean and only a few years old. We had a very good experience and would absolutely suggest ACR to anyone needing a rental car in the Athens area.

Great service. They waited for us at the airport before we landed. We took the car and returned it near an Athens hotel a week later. The fact that they come and pick up the car from where you set is really helpful. The guy who gave us the car and took it from us was really nice and on time. I will definitely book with them again.

I emailed when our flight woud be coming in...after 6 delays. They responded to every email quickly. Staff was there at the exit with my name on paper. Very easy to find. Our van was another 2 min walk. The check out was fast and thorough. Our 9 passenger van was perfectly clean and wonderful to drive. Drop off was equally efficient. Their methods are much faster than in-airport checkout counters we've used in the past. Their prices were also the best that we found, probably because they don't have to pay high airport counter rent. Well done!

Athens Car Rental (ACR) were excellent. I hired a small car for a ten day road trip around the Peloponnese. As I spent a few days in Athens I opted for the car to be delivered to my hotel instead of picking up at the airport and having to park it and not use it for a few days. A great small car turned up on time, around 40k on the clock and a few marks but all paperwork sorted out quickly. Drove really well with no problems. Dropped off at airport, where a company guy was waiting and flagged me down at door 1 of departures! A great price, great car and great service!

We rented a car for 3 days in January 2022. We met a guy from ACR in the airport hall with whom we filled out the paperwork, paid the deposit and all within 5 minutes. Then he handed us an almost new car, which we really enjoyed on our trip. I can only recommend.

I have rented a car for 3 days in October 22-24. A company representative responded promptly to post messages. At the airport I was met on time. The car was of a higher class than ordered, spacious and comfortable, inside and outside clean. When the car returned, I was also met at the agreed time. The employee who gave and collected the car was polite and friendly. I hope I will also receive the deposit back within the agreed time frame - up to 10 days. The only drawback of the car was the beating of the steering wheel at speeds above 120 km / h. Since I almost never drove that fast, it was not a problem) I recommend this company. Especially if you read reviews of competitors in the Athens airport area:)
