Lovely lagoon reached by boat from Kissamos. One can also drive to the parking on the hilltop above but this is not recommended. 8 km of terrible gravel road and you have to walk 2-3 km diwn to the lagoon and up again afterwords in the heat. 200 meters upwards. It is better to take the boat.

Great cruise to beautiful Balos Bay and Gramvousa! Off course the boat is packed, but you know that before you book. Just go in with no too much expectations and you will be amazed by the beauty. Catering on board is good.

Sadly a big low point of Crete torism. You get the feeling these cruises exist only to make as much money off tourists by offering as little as possible. Cramming too many people on, pushing cheap drinks, food and photos all the time - charging obnoxious 20 euros for a photo with an ugly dock background and two cheap as you can get key chains. Crete should be better than this. This is not the way a tourist should experience a gem like Balos. It completly ruins the experience. I have nothing to complain about the staff. They were nice, helpful - except for the photo lady - she could do with a charm school, when you decline her service. I regretted the decision to use the big boat to see Balos and Gramvousa.

Cruise is very well organized, personally I would spend more time on Gramvousa than on Balos.

Best cruise service In Port - other ferrys are overcrowded and run back and forth leaving you stranded but with this one boat stays with you whole time+ you can always come back and buy food or drink from staff. Staff was really nice and food was also good enough. Prices for food were more expensive side but nothing that much. Pasta was 6€ drinks 2-3€ Timing was perfect, 1.5 hours for exploring the fortress and 3 hours for beach. You can also rent sun umbrellas for beach which I highly recommend. Everyone who wants a great experience I suggest to travel with that ferry, others are a bit cheaper and have better advertising on port, but others pack more passengers aswell. Negative reviews under here who complain about people masses are probably meant for other companies, just reviewers put them on wrong place ? About covid... Staff wear masks but no social distancing, just stay outside in the wind and you will be okay. Or if you really want to be safe you need to travel by car because other ferrys don't have any anti virus measures aswell.

Good time spent on board. Timely started, travel guide available on board (couple of languages), possibillity to rent an umbrella. Food could be better, not too much to choose from.

We purchased boat trip to Balos with a stop at some other nice beach where you can hike on the mountain to see ruined fortress. Most of the people chose either swimming at the sea or hiking up. I did both but there was just too little time to do it. I run down the mountain to catch the ship and only had 2 minutes left before the boat departed to Balos.? I'd add 30 minutes to that stop and it would be perfect. Overall great experience though, totally recommend it!

Great boat trip to Balos. Uses a smaller boat than the big companies and has a more personal and friendly service. Food and drink on board is lovely and the boats speed gives you more time in the destinations than the big boats. Highly recommended
