Grandma's Restaurant - Cyclades

Excellent experience. I give five stars only to the best of the best. Grandma's is a high quality restaurant with exceptional tastes and very good trained staff. Every dish was inspired from traditional Greek ingredients. With the past years consulting from Lasarou Excecutive Chef and the art of the present chef, the menu is a journey on the balance of Greek tastes. The only mediocre point (for that level of restaurants) are the desserts, which they are tasty but nothing exceptional to the level of the food. Overall an almost perfect experience.

5 stars view, 3 stars food and 2 stars service. This restaurant is within a hotel and it is positioned as a high end place on the island. We went during the sunset hours and the view was fantastic. We sat by the pool and watched the sunset with a drink, it was great! The service at the bar was actually good. We then moved to the restaurant and everything just went downhill from there. First, they forgot about our water for a good 10-15 min. I had to call the waiter to ask about it. It was clear they forgot. We waited at least another 10 min before someone came to take our orders. I understand they may want to be attentive, but asking “how is the food, are you happy with everything” too many times during the meal was a little too much. Then, because of their own error in booking, when we were about to order dessert, they made us move tables so that they can accommodate a larger group. That was quite rude. They tried to make it up to us by having the chief serving us the dessert, but we didn’t care about the superficial stuff. As the “premium” restaurant on the island, this should not have happened. It made us feel like 2nd class customers. The food was okay. You can definitely do better at some other places (e.g. Drakos, Sainis, Koubara Seafood) on the island for less money. Overall, worth going for drinks for the sunset view, you can do better with food and service elsewhere. Edit: To respond to the restaurant's comment below, we were never informed about the 22:00 cut off time, neither on the phone when we made the booking, nor at the bar when we were having our drinks before dinner. Also, we are surprised to see there is not a single word of apology mentioned in their response.

As I have not been in all of the IOS restaurants, I cannot say this is the best restaurant in the island, but most probably it is!! Food, location and restaurant design are just astonishing!!

Our best romantic dinner in Ios, the food was great and the atmosphere around the pool was magic. Really recommended.

My wife and I had a terrific dinner at Grandma’s. Waiters are extremely nice and food is Michelin star quality. Absolutely recommended

The food was AMAZING! All, from reception to the service, the maitre and, of course Michalis at the bar were exceptional, friendly and welcoming. The menu looked very promising from the first glance and we were not disappointed! For starters we had the smoked aubergine (prepared at the table from the maitre) and the green salad. I must say the aubergine was a very nice experience... Mains: beef cheeks and the lamp left us in Aww... As for the dessert, the chocolate duet got me the chills. No words, you have to try it!!

Take an aperitivo during sunset at the bar and then head over to the restaurant. The staff was attentive and nice. Food wise the star of the evening was the eggplant, prepared with lots of love at the table. Everything else was very good but not wow/spectacular. Bar & restaurant to recommend once for your stay on Ios. Instagrammers during sunset, searching for THE shot, are annoying. But restaurant/bar was not full, just as preferred.

Grandma's restaurant is incredible. The menu is based on local ingredients and the food was amazing. The attention to detail and service is faultless. Cocktails from the bar were very tasty and the view from the hotel is fantastic too!
