Good value car rental near Myk airport. Let down by charging the deposit to your credit card which you is returned 10 days later.

We hired a car from Green Motion due to the economical price but regretted it. The office is not near the port so we had to wait ages for someone to collect us and take us to the car. This is also the first time I have had a car hire company actually take the deposit money (more than £1,000) from my credit card rather than just take the card details. It took almost a week for the funds to be deposited again afterwards. This was unnerving in part because the car was covered in damage and scratches when we collected it so that it was difficult to record them all. The staff were helpful but our experience was overall negative, in similarity with others who have posted reviews here...

This is the worst rental company I have ever seen! run away everything is done to strip you.

First of all, there isn't an airport desk. You will have to walk 5min, it is very easy to find but if you have a big suitcase, it might not be convenient. The staff member was really nice and friendly. He worked efficiently and the whole process was quick. The deposit (€800 in my case) on my credit card will be blocked for 20 days, which I think is a bit abusive. One of the major drawback is the fact that there isn't any "drop box" to give back the car before the opening hours and I had to pay a fee of €25 to be able to give the car back. To be fair, it was written and explained on the voucher, but I hadn't read it before. Overall, I would still recommend Green motion, because it was fairly cheap and the car was in good condition.

The whole experience was terrible. Starting with the extremely poor customer service. The person who received us at their office was extremely unhelpful and rude while searching for our reservation that could not be found in their system at first glance. My reservation was made and already paid with booking and the deposit needed for the most basic car was almost 900€ (a little expensive compared to previous experiences but ok). After providing several cards for the deposit, all of them couldn’t be accepted according to the gentleman. As last resort, I suggested paying the deposit in cash which was also not an option for them. Since the deposit had to be paid with a card under my name none of my could even try their cards since the reservation was under my name. Ended up losing all my money (including the extra insurance that I had purchased through booking). Went to the car rental company next door with no reservation and in 15 min I had a car to drive away with. No hassle, no drama, nothing. Ended up paying a little more for the same kind of car and learned my lesson. Deposit was around 350€ instead of 900). With Green Motion never again.

I can't understand the negative reviews here, perhaps there has been a change in staff recently but I really can't recommend Green Motion enough. I am always dubious about holiday car rental companies, there's a lot of them out there just after your money and don't care about you or the service they provide, but this company was great. Very friendly, professional, no pressure at all to add extras like additional insurance, and we got an upgrade to an automatic which was much preferred for me as I drive an electric so not having to worry about gears with the already difficult roads of Mykonos was much appreciated. It's a 5-10 mins walk on the main road from the airport, but is far cheaper because of this small inconvenience than the ones in the terminal. We will be coming out here again and I have no doubt we will use their services again when we do. Thank you

Didn’t turn up for 40/50 mins when we arrived - no apology or acknowledgement that that is poor customer service. Claimed that the circled damage was “new” despite it obvious stemming from whatever incident caused the other obvious damage (which was not in question). Criminal. Do not be fooled by lower prices - pay slightly more for quality, certainty and legitimacy.

Not a nice walk from the airport in the heat with bags etc. 2 people running it. The women helpful, and did all the paperwork which was slow, especially as I thought it had all been done this end before we left. They take a massive deposit £805E on your credit card, even though I've paid for full comprehensive insurance before .Make sure you have a credit card in the name of the person hiring, otherwise they won't rent to you. Renter's beware! They want your money, so they can take it off your CC when you return the car. Make sure the car is clean and not covering any marks as they charged me 340E for the slightest mark ,which was already there, but covered by dust on the day of hire .Make sure you really take time and take photos and video, because they are out to get you!!!! The car was awful and not well maintained and not what I booked. The man has no interest other than getting you out of his way asap before you see how bad the cars are. He swears a lot and is not very professional and gave me keys that didn't lock the car after a day. I had to go back for new key he changed the battery and swore a lot....The key stopped working again the next day and the car remained unlocked throughout the rest of the holiday. On the day of return was a complete shambles. It took over an hour to off hire and he took more money off my CC instead of refunding.( more swearing) by this time the place was full of people hiring and off hiring and all getting anxious to catch flights etc. The place is run by one competent women and an incompetent man and woefully undermanned. The roads in Mykonos are full of potholes and loose stones which will harm the cars, so make sure you have full comprehensive insurance because they will be charging you at any opportunity. Overall Mykonos and it's people are brilliant.....Green Motion hire car spoilt the last day of our holiday and I recommend you don't use this company until they improve and they employ more staff and get rid of swearing man!!
