Sixt rent a car Mykonos Airport - Arrival Hall

Worst experience ever . I felt like I was renting the car with those local rental cars that want to charge you for everything . The lady in the counter was the worst . When I first got there , I was trying to be friendly and ask for recommendations and she totally ignored me . Then , she kept telling me I needed to get the insurance etc . I said no thank you , I understand the risk . When we went to get the car she cane with us and they literally check for every single little scratch . When returning the car , she came again to check the car with us, we have just come from the gas station which is 2k away , then she said it was one bar down . I immediately went to the gas station and put 1 euro to filled it up and when I came back she said it was one bar down again . Then she inspected the car , and found random scratches . I refused to sign the scratches she pointed out as it was obvious that bc of low business they just wanted to make money from tourist this year as they have no business . She was so extremely rude and just not what I expect from sixt which is a international car rental not a random local rental car . I also feel like it was just her , bc when I went to drop off the car , there was a guy in the counter and he was so nice , giving tips, restaurants , beaches to another customer . He had a map , marking things for her . This lady which I forgot her name , but she has curly hair , she did none of that . She was rude from the beginning . Reading other reviews , it seems like This is their business model , to just extra charge customers for random stuff . Read below all other comments and I’m sure it was the same lady .

I received a very dirty car ….when I arrived told that we don’t the same car category and gave me an suv the next day they sent me a very dirty car ….to make the long story short don’t rent from there you a better option

We rented a car for 2 days with sixt. Dimitris attended us very kindly, everything was super easy and fast with him. definitely if you come to mykonos hire Sixt and ask for him, he will attend you as if you knew him before.

Very nice staff and good experience. The procedure at arrival was fast, we booked online before arrival. The car was easy to find and easy to give back. We did not regret to upgrade our first choice to a bigger and automatic car (we were 4 people), roads can be complicated in Mykonos and around... Safer choice than a Quad or bike. They did not insist to sell us an insurance as we paid with a visa premier and we appreciated it. If I go back one day I will certainly rebook with Sixt.

Terrible experience! Very disappointed in Sixt, a global rental company with a reputation to uphold.. I thought. Due to a bad prior experience with rental agencies, I recorded a video of the whole car but failed to film the very bottom part of the left front side (you have to kneel to do so). When I returned the car at the airport the Sixt agent arrived at the car and sprinted to the front left bottom side of the car. He literally ignored all other sides of the car and went straight for a spot with some minor scratches in front bottom lift. This gives me good reason to believe the scratches were already there and I was likely not the first customer being charged for it. I was also asked what type of car insurance / credit card insurance I had even before speaking about the scratches. I'm aware of this (criminal) practice by local rental companies but deeply disappointed to experience this with an internationally reputed company like Sixt. I feel robbed.

After sleeping only 3 hours and taking 3 flights to get to Mykonos, I realized after landing that I will probably need a car to get around. Nicola M. greeted me with a great smile at the counter and found me an automatic car on the lot that was available. He provided excellent customer service that is “rare” in Europe, as we all know. Thank you, Nicolas for all your help today!

As soon as I approached the kiosk Niko, representative of Sixt, was already expecting me, gaving me the best customer service possible! I got the mini Cooper convertible! What a great car! I highly recommend this company, they made the process quick and easy! Thank you Niko!
