The house is very beautiful and the furniture in the rooms. Good location, you will need 11 minutes by car to Milopotamus beach

Rooms are good and clean, staff are friendly, but very mediocre breakfast is charged extra 8 euro, plus extra charge if you want an espresso (!)

Although this has been our third visit to Iris Hotel and more will surely follow, I wanted to briefly share some information about this hidden gem for the benefit of smart travellers who like to get great value for their money. As they say, in terms of importance in Real-Estate three things are important: location, location, location. Iris Hotel’s location on the unbelievingly lush slopes of Mount Pilion, overlooking the Aegan is simply unbeatable. I would dare to say there is nothing like the location of Tsagarada in the whole of Greece and the whole world. Even though I like warm weather, I usually find the heat of Greece most of the summer unbearable. In terms of warm comfortable weather and rich-in-oxygen air with proximity to clean, blue waters, Tsagarada and its surroundings get very high marks, making it quite suitable for Northern Europeans and North Americans and anyone who likes balanced summer weather. Bear in mind however, that Tsagarada is the kind of place that is great to visit all year long, as it has the combines mountain and sea at their best. What I really like about Tsagarada is that everything is small. This is the kind of place where I have only only seen small-scale, quality, ecological touristic development, as opposed to the development unfortunately becoming prevalent in many parts of the world, with massive hotel chains, food/coffee chains, bland restaurants, etc. Here there are lots of really special restaurants for those who like to pamper their taste buds, as well as more traditional tavernas serving quality food. Iris Hotel fits perfectly in this setting as it is managed by Olga and Kostas, a couple devoted to their guests’ comfort and enjoyment, who, along with their polite staff, quietly take care of everything, including the beautiful flowers surrounding the property from every side. There are no unecessary luxuries, yet one feels quite fortunate to be here, enjoying the refreshing rest and quiet sleep any time of the day, the amazing views from the balconies (sun rising from the Agean), all kinds of birds singing in their distinct chirping, a sweet breeze often blowing - yes, this is a prime spot for nature-lovers. The breakfast included is suprisingly tasty, generous and thankfully home-made with locally sourced goods. I could rant on about Iris Hotel and Tsagarada, but better to let you discover things for yourselves. Closing I would like to add that it feels good knowing that my money is allowing every-day, hard-working people earn an honest living while heartfully providing real value to Greeks and non-Greeks alike.

Positive: Great location and quite new facility. The staff has been very friendly. The breakfast was ok, lots of options. Clean and with a great view.. Negative: Unfortunately there has been a mis-match between the type of room booked and the type we've got - maybe the pictures were not representative. The espresso coffee was not good at all (something to improve in the future?) and charged separately - at the end it was a gift but still. Very noisy people at the reception during the afternoons which is not very well appreciated when you go there to relax! In general the area has a lot of accomodation possibilities that might worth try on my next visit..

Positive: Liked the safety approach and the cleanliness especially during the times that you can never be too sure regarding the virus. Location was great considering the area is full of mountains and it takes some time to go from one place to the other. The young lady and her mother were very nice and friendly and attended to our needs.. Negative: Price could be better but I can’t complain as we visited during a busy period that most of the rooms in the region were occupied..

Iris guesthouse is located in the heart of the village, just in the midway between 2 major squares. It is also very close to the statrting point of several hiking routes. Olga and Kostas will do everything to make your stay easygoing and pleasant. Rooms are clean and warm with open view to the Aegean sea, breakfast features so much food plus a home made pie (different every day), and during evening time both hosts will wait for their guests at the main lobby for tsipoura and chat. Looking forward to getting back.
