Hermes Hotel - Plateia Kanari

Best hotel we've stayed at in Greece. Great location facing the waterfront. Great breakfast, great rooms. Comfy beds. And it has its very own pebbly beach in the back!!! What more can you ask for???

High season stay . On the expensive side , breakfast could be better . Decent room for the price , inexperienced staff but helpfull. Dont try the food or the cocktails there are way better options outside . Have a glass of wine at the private little beach !

The view from my room was by far the best view I’ve ever had from a hotel room. My balcony opened onto the sea and I could hear the waves all day. It’s not luxurious hotel but the restaurant was good, the staff were helpful and the rooms were clean. There was no coffee or tea available in the rooms, but there was Netflix and YouTube on every tv. Was very happy with my stay here.

This place is gorgeous and ideally located on the edge of downtown and between two bodies of water. It lacks a beach, but beaches are available not far away. Very friendly and helpful front desk.

This is a really bad hotel, I would certainly not recommend it to anyone. We stayed there for 4 nights at the beginning of August. They were severely understaffed resulting in large queues for all of their services. For example, we waited for about 30 minutes to check in and on average 30 minutes to get breakfast from a waiter-facilitated buffet. Breakfast itself was horrible, certainly not worth the money. All the pastries were stale every day and the coffee was undrinkable (you had to pay extra for cold cappuccino and order it from a different bar). Also, you weren't able to see the egg-related options, the cheese and charcuterie as they were located at a counter at the back of the buffet which was unreachable, and the stuff did not sufficiently explain them. The omelette was inedible and there was no fresh juice. The air condition did not work and it was 40 (Celsius) degrees hot. On the first day the fridge was not working and they switched it with another room’s fridge that was working. Our room smelled like urine and when I asked them whether they could do something about it, they said that they are going to fix it but to bear in mind that they are not a 4-star hotel they are just a 3-star hotel. At some point we asked for an iron, and they said that another resident had it and had no idea when they would return it. After a few hours they did manage to find an iron but it seemed burnt as its bottom part was black. I asked them for a complaints form to note a few suggestions for improvement, and they said that they did not have a complaints form, nor did they have enough time to listen to my complaints. They vaguely advised me to send them my complaints without specifying to which email address. They are amateurs and frankly unprofessional.

Would definitely recommend and will visit again on our visits to Syros. Room was very clean and spacious as is the whole hotel. We are in the restaurant for our evening meal, the standard was far better than we had experienced in the harbour side restaurants, and fairly priced. The staff were helpful and a credit to the hotel.

Directly on the harbor, with seaview on the other side. Posh hotel, excellent breakfast, nice people, good wifi. Walking distance from nightlife.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and in a great location. Would suggest to book a room with a sea view. The room was spacious and it was fabulous to hear the sea from the windows.
