י	יגאל שובל on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ מקריניצה היא עיירה יפיפיה במעלה ההר מעל העיר וולוס , חונים בכניסה לעפר ומשם ממשיכים ברגל , לאורך הרחוב חנויות מזכרות הרבה ריבות. ופסטה יוונית אבל ההפתעה במרכז הכפר בכיכר המרכזית נטועים שתי עצי דולב ענקיים ועתיקים ,וגולת הכותרת התצפית ממרפסת הנוף על העיר וולוס ועל כל המפרץ מרהיבה ביותר. Makrinica is a beautiful uphill town above the town of Volos, parked at the dirt entrance and from there continue on foot, along the street a lot of jam souvenir shops. Ι	ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣ ΒΑΡΑΛΗΣ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο κύριος σημερινός ναός, η Μητρόπολη, είναι η Παναγία (Κοίμηση της Θεοτόκου) κτισμένη το 1767 λίγο δυτικότερα από την Ι. Μονή Οξείας Επισκέψεως η οποία κατέρρευσε από κατολίσθηση κι έτσι στη νέα εκκλησία ενσωματώθηκαν όσα δομικά στοιχεία μπορούσαν να αξιοποιηθούν (κυρίως λιθανάγλυφα, κίονες κ.ά. μαρμάρινα μέλη). Μέσα στην εκκλησία βρίσκεται τοποθετημένο ανάγλυφο από λευκό μάρμαρο που παριστά την Παναγία όρθια σε στάση δεομένης ως Πλατυτέρα των Ουρανών. Στη δυτική πλευρά της αυλής της Παναγίας βρίσκεται ένα διόροφο κτίριο, το "Δεσποτικό", που χρησίμευε σαν κατοικία του Δεσπότη κατά τις επισκέψεις του στη Μακρινίτσα. Κάτω από την Παναγία στη νότια πλευρά της αυλής βρίσκεται ένα διόροφο παρεκκλήσι γνωστό σαν "Κρυφό Σχολείο" με τους Αγ. Πάντες στον πάνω όροφο και τον Αγ. Νικόλαο στον κάτω χρονολογημένο το 1743.
