★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Basic level hotel, a bit outdated. But very convenient for doing the Samaria gorge hike. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Free shuttle service to Samaria entrance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed couple of nights here. The service was very friendly and professional, food and room was of good quality and the price was very reasonable. The owner gave us some valuable information on the hiking routes and the precautions we should take because of the heat wave. Because of the high latitude, Omalos had very comfortable temperature. Samaria gorge was unfortunately closed due to the heat but Aya Irini was great. Warm recommendations to plan your hiking from here.
Edit: I forgot some valuable items in the hotel room and they sent them to our next place of stay in Chania. Exceptionally good service! I will visit this place next time we come to Crete.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely little hotel close to the gorge and other hikes. The Samaria gorge was closed while we were there but the owners recommended other hikes, which were great. The dinner was delicious as well, and £45 for 1 night stay, plus dinner and breakfast!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent hotel to visit the Samaria's gorge. The staff is very welcoming and gives really useful advice for the hike. Also the owner has settled a free shuttle every morning to bring you to the departure of the hike which is perfect. The food is homemade and prepared with local products.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well you get what you pay for, and if you want to overnight for the gorge hike then this is where you stay. Still it doesn't feel like they need to charge extra for the breakfast when almost nowhere else in Crete does that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place and has a good atmosphare. Traditional greek village feeling. We had perfect dinners. The whole staff is very kind. The place was very clean, but the furniture is quite old and the breakfast is very simple.

Very welcoming and friendly.
Great food for an evening meal.
It's standard type of accomodations but perfect for what it is.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly and hospitable, great service and fantastic setting. The only reason for the four star rating was the rooms. They were beautiful but a bit worn and the bathroom very small and the shower very old.
