★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στα χρόνια της Τουρκοκρατίας ονομάστηκε Κρήνη του Δελημάρκου. Έτσι είναι γνωστή σήμ-ερα. Η κατασkευή της έγινε το 1666 μ.Χ.όπως αναφέρεται στην επιγραφή που υπάρχει με τη χρονολογία (1666). Οι Τούρκοι, που το διάστημα εκείνο πολιορκούσαν το Χάνδακα, είχαν κόψει τον αγωγό της κρήνης του Μοροζίνι. Έτσι η πόλη βασανιζόταν από έλλειψη νερού.
Τότε ο Αντόνιο Πρίουλι βρήκε μία φλέβα νερού μέσα στην τάφρο, απέναντι στον προμαχώνα Βηθλεέμ. Το νερό το διοχέτευσε απέναντι στην Πύλη Δερματά, όπου έκτισε την κρήνη που σώζεται και σήμερα
 During the Turkish occupation it was called the Delimarch Fountain. This is how it is known today. Its erection took place in 1666 AD, as stated in the inscription dated 1666. The Turks, who at that time besieged Chandaka, had cut off the Morosini fountain. Thus the city was suffering from a lack of water.
Then Antonio Prioli found a vein of water in the ditch opposite Bethlehem bastion. The water flowed across the Dermatas Gate, where he built the fountain that is still preserved today.

A beautiful monument in the city of Heraklion, a sample of the historicity and the various cultural influences of the city. It is not a very prominent monument, but it is preserved. Hidden among modern buildings, the fountain Priouli is a pleasant surprise for visitors who will happen to be at the spot.
