We were happy with our stay, convenient parking place, nice staff, the pillows were a bit too hard and bouncy.

Definitely not the best hotel I've ever stepped foot in. However, it's a good place to spend a night (or two, max.) if you're passing by and need somewhere to stay. The receptionist was very kind and polite. The room was ok, clean sheets, all the basics you need. It's also really close to the city center so that's a plus if you're looking to spend more time outside, eat something, etc. The biggest turn-off of this hotel was the poor breakfast... The juice tasted very poorly, the coffee was almost fully transparent (which scared me a little. not going to lie)... And there's not much of a buffet, some items are better than others but that's about it. Would recommend this only if you need a place to stay, but I don't recommend opting out for their breakfast (unless you really need to).

Elena Hotel is a very nice mid-range hotel. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the staff are excellent. They offer breakfast, but it is the usual fair with fried eggs, slices of ham and cheese, and cereal. I, for one, do not like this breakfast format that seems to be the standard in Greece. As a Canadian, breakfast included means eggs, pancakes, bacon, toast, home fries, fruit, muffins, bagels, etc. I have a hard time giving good reviews for breakasts in Greece. They always seem cheap and sparse. The hotel offers free parking, which in downtown Serres is impossible to find. The only thing is that it is a five to ten minute walk to get to it. The hotel has a pool which is nice to have in the middle of the city when it's 35°+. It is, however very, very small. Not big enough to do a few laps if you are looking for some excercise. It is surrounded by tables and chairs where guests and staff drink their coffees and chain smoke. There is only one lounge chair that never gets sun. If I needed a place to stay in downtown Serres, I would stay here again, but I would make use of the mini fridge in my room and get a few things from the supermarket to make my own breakfast. Save yourself some money and don't pay for the included breakfast.
