Unfortunately not the Italian experience we had in mind. It is a little pricy for what you get, they only offer a few vegetarian options. The classic dish rigatoni pomodoro was below average. The tomato sauce tasted not freshly made but like ready to use sieved tomatoes which was unfortunate. The buffalina pizza was packed with standard cheese so that you didn’t really taste the buffalo mozzarella on top. The chianti was a good wine recommendation. The bread charged with 3€ (not ordered but served as couvert) was highly overpriced for the quality if you consider that you get a full bread for 1€ at the bakery.

We ended up eating here 2 of our 3 nights on Koufonisia because the experience was so wonderful. Amazing service, delicious food and a great atmosphere. I'm Celiac and lactose intolerant and Sylvia was VERY knowledgeable about both and helped create dishes that surpassed any other Italian food I've eaten. My husband raved about his food as well and he has no allergies and made no substitutions.

The pizza they serve is tasty, but rather small portions, so do not expect typical 28-30cm pizza. What I didn’t like is the overpriced bread. They charged 4,50€ for few bread slices and 2€ for a 1l bottle of water! Why in the other tavernas we pay always max. Of 1,50€ (considering bread for 3 people). Very disappointed with the prices there. Salads are also pretty expensive and not so tasty as they could be . There is so many other better places on the island (which I rated highly on google maps) also where they can serve you tasty pizza at decent money that I would suggest to avoid this place… the only advantage they have is the sea view.

Koufonissi has a lot of restaurants, tavernas and so on and while the level goes from basic to very good, sometimes it feels like they all more or less serve the same things. What a surprise to come to Lavanda & Rosmarino and find very good Italian style dishes done with local ingredients! The hospitality was perfect, the food very good. The restaurant tries to keep a high level so portions are smaller and more expensive it compared to other places in Koufonissi - but this is exactly the point: they do offer a different style. Absolutely worth a visit.

I tried here the very best pizza I ever had including some of the pizza I tried in Italy. Awesome cheese on a crunchy base with Italian regional bacon served with care and attention to the customer. Awesome view of the sea. Excellent coffee as well. Not a wine drinker here, but they have a delicate selection of wines.

A friendly Italian trattoria in Koufonisia, a few laneways behind the main strip of the town. The food was delicious Italian home style. The staff was friendly and chatted to us about Island life. We had a lovely relaxed evening at Lavender and Rosemary.

I am usually not that harsh, but given the extravagant amount of money we had to pay: -service was quite poor. There was no attention on the timing, dishes of the same course arrived at a different time in another table. Table next to us received a shrimp dish without the shrimps, which was retrieved after 5 minutes of offering. Main course (only three dishes of medium difficulty and preparation demand) took almost 1 hour to prepare. Spoon was not delivered with the pasta. Knife was not provided for the main course. The fish we ordered was not prepared, nor asked whether it is to be prepared by the kitchen. -food was made in a hurry. We ordered the prosciutto salad. The tomato was cut poorly in the salad (the branch point was left in the salad) , the prosciutto as well, one fork bite and the whole prosciutto was out of the plate. We ordered the marinated salmon. Half of the salmon was smoked, half was marinated, my experience in shushi restaurants suggested exactly that (against the sayings of the lady who served us). The quantities were poor. I add with my review a dish that costed 16 euros...Kalamari (16 euros) in the menu was stiffer than one would expect, sea bream (19 euros) was drier than expected (not even coming with the expected sider, mashed potatoes, but diced potatoes instead, which were overcooked) My definite suggestion, as a Greek local, is to avoid it, there are a lot of better options in the island.

Authentic Italian. A must for all who want to taste Traditional Italian cuisine. Tuna was really really good, the steak was awesomely cooked, pizza was as it should be. Don’t miss it while on the island.
