Beautiful place with many good resturants and even a smal nightclub, two minimarkets that have fresh new baked bread and all you need, IF you like walking there are many trails, also many beaches to shose from IF you walk a bit, friendly Greek People.

Good, clean, wide sandy beach.Great for families. You can camp out at the back of the beach, there are lots of tents and makeshift shelters. It's very interesting. Can be gusty wind but also it's hot and open.

Lentas is a once upon a time tiny fishing village turned into a tourist get away. it's still a tiny village but most residents have enlarged their houses to have some studio rooms or apartments for touristic purpose. many of the local residents actually make their living today, from the tourist season which lasts between April to October. The wonderful thing about Lentas is that although it has a fair ammount of tourists all through the the tourist season, it still doesn't loose it's authentic, Greek village atmosphere. There are many restaurants and taverns, most of them familly run and many of them with authentic Greek food cooked the same day by the mother or grand mother of the familly. regular menues are also available. And the beach; small but yet accomodating. There are also many other magical beaches and places, around Lentas, to the east as well as to the west. if you are the type who likes fancy hotels with lobbies and discos, this is not the place for you. but if you are the type looking for some quiet, some sun, some sea, some beach and some authenticity; this is just the place. Notes: The road to Lentas is very narrow and winding. you have to cross a mountain range/go over it, to get there. Although it's only about 28 Kms from Agio Deka, these 28 Kms take an hour to cross. The road directions signs are not the best in this part of Crete. You will find a sign in the begining that says; "Lentas 25 Kms" and after some 5 kilo meters, find another that says; "Lentas 28 Kms". The nearest petrol station is also 28 Kms away, in Apisokari or in Agio Deka surrounding. it's best to fill your tank when you go there. Agio Deka and Mires have some larger super markets. the Lidl super market in the outskirts of Mires is a fairly good one. In Lentas itself, there are 3 mini markets that are also well equipped. All the local residents are extremely cordial and help you out with whatever they can. Lentas beach is really a nice but it's more a pebble and rocks beach. A beach/swimming shoe is recommended (you can find one at the local mini market for 6 euros) When you go there just relax and have a good time. It's really a wonderful place. (if you are into nude bathing ;-), go to Dytikos - the neighbouring village to the west of Lentas)

Restaurants seemed nice, but I would advise against swimming. Very narrow and at the west side dirty beach. The water is usually very cloudy, I don't recommend diving

The beach at Lendas proper is quite small. Perfect to keep an eye on a young child. There are some remote coves to the east and just to the west is a long beach at Dytiko (where camping is also allowed). It is a place that has never quite "taken off" with the tourists. You can't see any of the greenhouses etc. from the harbour or the beach.

Not the best beach in Crete by any means. Backed by some pricey cafes with access challenging for the less sprightly. However, the scenery is stunning, the village is charming and there is a much better beach just the other side of the Lion mount. If you use beaches in this area, be aware that they are mainly small pebble and rock.

Good beach with free loungers and umbrellas (though you're expected to donate money in a box). Great selection of tavernas for lunch and evening menus. Sea is pretty clear and warmish. Good for snorkeling. Amazing drive over the mountains to Lendas, along windy road through little narrow-streeted villages

It is quite na adventure to get to Lentas! You need to be strong in driving... Yet, the view is breathtaking and even though there are nicer beaches, getting into the water and swimming there is wonderful! The village itself is really small but pretty and people are very accomodating!
