Overall a nice cosy hotel, decorated with taste and style, seems that it was recently renovated. Breakfasts are good and not exactly the same everyday. The area by the pool is very nice as well. If you need a covid test before departure it's better to ask for the address of the doctor, do not rely on the hotel staff to organize it (we wasted 1h waiting for the visit that never happened and it was impossible to find out why). The room was close to the street so it was loud in the night.

Great hotel. Perfect for people who enjoy pool or sea side time spending. Beach is not right near the hotel but pretty close by. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is delicious and nourishing, especially Greek salad which staff prepare for you. The only downside was that the WiFi didn’t really work well in the room, but it was still manageable.

Excellent hotel with a very nice design of the rooms, extraordinary setting with the pool surrounded by olive trees and palm trees. The hotel is basically new. The cleaning service is very good. The pool is cleaned religiously every morning at 8. They food is exceptional and gourmet style. All the staff, especially Xenia and the bartender George, are always smiling and willing to help. They all talk very good English and are constantly asking if everything is ok or if you need anything. The WiFi is very good even for working.Without a doubt one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Crete. Thank you, Malèna!

We went Island hopping in Greece and had the most amazing holiday till Malena hotel. Our ferry to Heraklion was delayed so we called the hotel to let them know because of the taxi, they were really rude on the phone and told us that there was no room for us. We booked early in advance so we were really confused, after a few phone calls they told us they had to leave the room empty for 24hrs for COVID reasons and that they booked another hotel for us. We looked the hotel up on booking and it had bad reviews and was a lot cheaper (from the same owner!!) so we didn’t agree, we got a “free” dinner but still had to pay for 2 drinks… after staying 1 night in that terrible hotel we could check in our room. The room was nice, bathroom smelled terrible but it was okay. The hotel was fully booked and everybody was stressed out. A lot of guest had to stay 1/2 nights at the other hotel and were really unhappy. The older man at the reception and the bartender are very friendly and tried to help us! But nobody ever apologized for the whole situation and the communication was terrible, after traveling there you don’t want this to happen.. We would really not recommend this hotel to anyone, and that’s a pity because in my opinion the hotel has a lot of potential but it’s just not there…

Excellent service throughout our week-long stay. From check in to check out it was all flawless. Varied breakfast, options for brunch, and the fixed dinner menu was a good mix of traditional and international always with a twist - really tasty and well thought out. Whenever we were not having one dish, we were offered an alternative. Clean and daily serviced rooms, pool facilities are good for kids and adults. Wifi was good and had coverage around the hotel and pool. The beach is 2-3min walking distance. For the area with beach bars and sunbeds you need to go a few more minutes. Very friendly and professional hotel staff. Thanks a lot to Xenia and George, as well as to all the others who made our stay a wonderful experience!

Beautiful and very clean hotel! When we arrived we got told that we would get a room upgrade which was very nice! The service was great but there were a few things we were not satisfied about. Firstly the communication was limited. Sometimes the staff didn’t know how to translate and the conversation was confusing. Secondly, there wasn’t ANY information about our stay or the island. Everything we wanted to know, we had to ask for ourselves. For example when we wanted to plan a trip to another city, we had to find out how to get there for ourselves. To continue, the service at the restaurant of the hotel is not good. We were treated like we didn’t belong there: we did not get served, but instead the staff just screamed at us. Lastly, we would like to point out that in case of emergencies there is nobody around to help or inform! During our stay we experienced an earthquake, but when we wanted to speak to someone to find out more about the situation, everything was dark and there was nobody around! All together, it was a nice stay but there were a few disadvantages.
