Matzi Hotel Apartments - Epar.Od. Gerani - Koufou

In any other hotel, I have never received so warm and friendly service. Rooms are clean and equipped with basic kitchen tools. Beside the poolarea is small playground. From reception you can buy coffee, icecream, beer and chips.

Small family owned hotell. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms have kitchen and refrigerator. Nice pool area with sunbeds. Located next to the beach. A few hundred metres away is the village Geroni, with supermarkets, ATM and other services. Several restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Positive: The owner is very nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and well equipped so one can cook a simple meal. Shops and restaurants nearby. Quiet neighborhood.. Negative: Rocky beach, apropriate shoes required especially for small kids.

Positive: The room was superb with great facilities perfectly positioned to local buses and great 5 star tavernas. The beach is clean and friendly. Pool is nice size. Very high standard of decor and cleanliness..

Positive: Immaculately clean and tidy. Very friendly, ideal for a solo traveller. Apartment had everything I needed including a good sized balcony with sea view. Pool area has plenty of sunloungers and is also very clean. Range of 'essentials' (water, snacks, beer, ice cream) available from reception and a short walk to supermarkets etc. Probably not the right area for bars and nightlife but ideal for a chilled getaway..

We had high expectations for Matzi and they were met! Everything about this place is nice and we had amazing sea view from our room. The room is very spacious with kitchen, utensils and everything was clean and working. The balcony was also spacious. The evenings are very quiet with just the sound of waves. The yard is tastefully decorated with banana trees and freshly cut grass, big pool and direct beach access. Staff is generous and polite, they offer drinks, coffee, beer and snacks by the pool at reasonable prices. The Maltese dog is security guard of the property! Everything from markets, tavernas and bakeries is in the walking distance from Matzi. 15min of walking is enough to get to the busy Platanias street where you find every international cuisine. The only that is not related to Matzi, but sucked, is the beach with the most mediocre on Crete, sometimes not very clean and with big waves.

Amazing! A perfect hotel right on the seaside ? beautiful views and a quiet area still close to shops and restaurants. The lady at the reception is super friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, had 3 balconies and comfortable beds. Pool area is also nice and not too crowded and the beach is literally right in front of the hotel and perfect for swimming. Would highly recommend, the best place I've stayed at on Crete!

Positive: Matzi Apartments is the most amazing place to spend your holidays in Crete, Chania region. We spent there two weeks, we had best view from the balcony, sea, beach, waves, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The garden is also very beautiful garden, big pool (they clean it every evening), I BBQ facilities. Next to the Apartments are free parking places (we rented the car from goldcar). Our apartment had two beds, sofa, big wardrobe, all kitchen facilities (hob, kettle, fridge, coffee machine, plates and other stuffs), bathroom, and great balcony. Every day, except Mondays, they clean the rooms, adding in the room fresh flowers and sometimes fruits (the person who is cleaning are very nice). Maria, the owner and her mother are awesome, she always answered to our requests, helped us and advised what to visit in Crete. The atmosphere there is really good. Thank you for the surprise on our engagement. Also, the Gerani beach is very beautiful, quet, it is long, around 2,5 km with lovely sand and clear water (in the end of August with big waves, but only in this period of time). The sea turtles also prefers Gerani beach to lay its eggs. The Gerani is closer to Chania, 16 km, also there are good family restaurants, a few tourist shops an even a bakery. We recommend this place!.
