Joined a tour through Melissani Lake Cave. It’s a beautiful experience to do when In Kefalonia. The water was so blue and beautiful. We were lucky enough to see a eel in the lake too

Unique colors and a rare geological phenomenon. The natural entrance of the cave is vertical (dimensions 40×50 m.) and was created by the fall of a part of the roof, probably by an earthquake.

Well arranged must see destination. When we visited face coverings were required. Be aware that the exit walk is steep. For those interested in geology very much worth a visit.

It's a short trip around the cave in the boats, however it's well worth a visit. Stunning colours. The boatmen are good fun.

The lake itself is absolutely phenomenal but the queues and systems need to be arranged better. Waited for an hour. Avoid 12till2 if you are not on a coach tour. Ample parking. Portoloos and a shop.

Definitely worth a visit. Amazing cave to visit and one of the main attractions of the island. Costs €5 a person if you buy joint with the other cave so €10 for both caves. Once inside the cave you walk down a tunnel where loaded onto a boat for a short row round the cave. We went when quite busy but was still worth it. You get taken from one side to the very back and back to the front again. Plenty of photo opertunities and the rower offers to take photos for you. If you lucky you can see eels in the water as is very clear. Recommended visiting mid day as sun highest in the sky so lights up the cave. Looks spectacular

Small lake inside of a cave. One area has a open top one is still closed. The water is 15m deep and you can see the ground very clear. The atmosphere is very nice. With the ticket you can also have a boat tour included. We had our dog with us. It was no problem. Parking for free in front of the underground lake.

Such a beautiful place to visit. It is a bit of a steep hill to climb back up after but so worth it. The rowers were fantastic and kept singing and having a laugh with us. The water is so beautifully clear and you can see right to the bottom. Definitely something to add to your travel bucket list
