★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of classic designs. Lots of personal attention, even though they are really popular/busy. When I was there, sandals were 35 to 45 euros...what a deal!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience there, personal working with the owner and artist himself allowed us to make exactly the right sandal design and colors to create a unique design. This is one of the places to visit when in Athens. Prices a bit higher than off the shelf good sandals at area shops. Worth it for the quality alone. Custom design makes this a great deal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not sure what else I can add to the many, many reviews online. The sandals are great, and the service was just fine! The place is quite small and very hectic, but still an experience not to be missed. Also, I was surprised at how cheap the prices were given the popularity of the maker and place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely time spent today in this atelier, while waiting for my custom fit, handmade sandals. Pantelis Melissinos shared his advice, experience and took all the time to adjust the sandals until they fit perfectly. I recommend strongly this unique shop!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited this shop in September of 2014. I got a pair of sandals and loved the experience. I wear them semi often and they have held up perfectly. They are still beautiful. I am excited to return this year (2020) and get another pair. I darkened mine with olive oil a couple times to darken the sandals and I love the look. If I remember correctly only some styles were available when I went. Is there a way to know which ones will be available or request a certain style to be available?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let me start off by saying the sandals are great quality, and an awesome customized souvenir to take home after a trip to Athens. However my experience definitely fell short of the excitement I had going in after reading the many rave reviews online. I went in during off season, and there wasn't any other customers being attended to during the time I was there. The employees were VERY quiet, and didn’t say much to me when I was there, mostly just the occasional “try this on”, which I found made the experience feel a little rushed and awkward. Melissinos has a few employees there customizing and putting together sandals which is very interesting to watch. The whole process is definitely very exciting, but unfortunately the lack of personality in the room definitely was disappointing. Melissinos himself cashed me out, but while I was there that was the only part of the process he was there for. Overall it was a very underwhelming and awkward experience for me. However I do love my sandals and have put many walking miles in them since purchasing them and they have held up quite nicely even after accidentally getting caught in the rain in them.
While in Athens I also stopped onto Olgianna Melissinos’ sandal shop, and I had a much friendlier and equally personalized experience. With VERY similar-if not the same quality sandal. So if you’re looking for an alternative I HIGHLY recommend her shop.
