★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το Μινωικό Μέγαρο Νίρου βρίσκεται στην τοποθεσία Αλμυρίδες, 15χλμ ανατολικά του Ηρακλείου, στην περιφέρεια του Βαθειανού Κάμπου της επαρχίας Πεδιάδας. Πρόκειται για μια σχεδόν τετράγωνη διώροφη έπαυλη με έκταση 1000τμ και 40 δωμάτια, κτισμένη με πελεκημένες πέτρες δίπλα στη θάλασσα. Κατά τις ανασκαφές από το Στέφανο Ξανθουδίδη το 1918, εντοπίστηκαν τέσσερις μεγάλοι ιεροί πελέκεις από μπρούντζο. Αυτό το γεγονός, σε συνδυασμό με το μεγάλο αριθμό θρησκευτικών αντικειμένων σε στάδιο επεξεργασίας, υποδηλώνει ότι ο χώρος αποτελούσε εργαστήριο μινωίτη αρχιερέα που διέθετε θρησκευτικά αντικείμενα στους πιστούς. 700μ δυτικά του μεγάρου έχουν εντοπιστεί ίχνη ενός μικρού μινωικού οικισμού και του λιμανιού του.
Το κτίριο ήκμασε τον 16ο αιώνα π.Χ. και καταστράφηκε τον 15ο αιώνα π.Χ.. Είχε δύο εισόδους, πλακόστρωτη αυλή, αποθήκες, εργαστήρια, ιερό, μικρό κλιμακοστάσιο και διαμερίσματα.
 Minor Mansion Nirou is located in Almirides, 15 km east of Heraklion, in the region of Vathianos Kambos in the province of Pediada. It is a quadruple two-storey villa with an area of 1000sqm and 40 rooms, built with chipped stones by the sea. During the excavations by Stefanos Xanthoudides in 1918, four large sacred brasses were identified. This fact, coupled with the large number of religious objects being processed, suggests that the site was a Minoan bishop's workshop with religious objects to the faithful. 700 m west of the mansion have been traced traces of a small Minoan settlement and its harbor.
The building flourished in the 16th century BC. and was destroyed in the 15th century BC. It had two entrances, paved courtyard, warehouses, workshops, sanctuary, small stairwell and apartments.
