Miramare Hotel - Miramare Hotel

Location and the hotel was perfect. Rooms were clean and spacious. However I am baffled by the good reviews regarding the owners. We felt like a major inconvenience. I have travelled around the world and have stayed at many hotels, to always be greeted with smiles and information about the city/island. At Miramare it was the most unpleasant welcome, no one greeted us with a smile, the front desk gave us no information about the island or hotel facilities or showed any sign of warmth. For the amount of money you are paying, the facilities and service are terrible. Every morning the other staff members who were always around the area never smiled, or said good morning to us. It was always just a negative and uncomfortable look towards us. If anything, my partner and I always felt like we were not welcome. On top of the unpleasant welcome, my partner tried calling the hotel more than 5 times to organise transfer to the hotel, to only be hung up on every time the phone answered. When we finally got on to them and my partner asked why he was being hung up on, they ignored him and didn't even apologise. Very cold, distant and disinterested people. Such a shame as the hotel is beautiful and we loved Folegandros, but we will not be staying here again or be recommending this place that made us feel awful.

The view Is Amazing and the position Is strategic. The bathroom can be renovated and built more in line with cyclades style, but overall Is a good hotel. Maybe a bit overpriced; It should serve breakfast to be in line with the price offer

Amazing view of Chora (and the sea), spacious rooms and a lovely outdoor pool. A perfect spot to explore the island. Beware of the steep entrance, it won't be easy by car/quad/scooter nor walking, but everything is up and down some cliff on this island!

Excellent location, astonishing view, clean and specious rooms, friendly people. We could feel the silence, the absolute blue of the Aegean, and the spirit of the Cyclades. If if this is what you are looking for, you got it!

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable - from flexibilty for modifying the pre-booked days, to offering free transfer to the main port at our convenience and helping us with the car rental. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Folegandros.

We stayed unfortunately longer in this hotel than we wanted to, because our ferry got cancelled. The welcome was very cold. The receptionist asked if we have been to Folegandros before, which we answered „no“ to. Normally you would expect some recommendations about the island/city/place are following after asking this question— but no, not here. We didn‘t received a single smile the entire stay. I don‘t expect a social sunshine, but is a friendly, helpful service to much to ask for? Especially when the hotel is not the cheapest. The wifi in the room didn‘t work reliable. We were using our mobile data most of the time (if it was available). The rooms were cleaned daily, but cleaning here means apparently only to empty the bins, providing new towels and doing the bed. The floor seemed not being cleaned since we entered the room. I used a glass to drink on the first day of arrival and still had to use the same glass after 3 days. The rooms in general were smelly, the bathroom was even worse (drainage problems?). After all the only plus was the view. And the friendly driver who picked us up and brought us back to the harbour.

Nice hotel outside but the WC was very old. Also they charged for 4 nights and we stayed 3 even we told them they cancelled our ferry and could not get to the island. We told them in advance but even that they didn’t modify the price. Not very nice from their part. Very Expensive price for the hotel, not so luxurious. You pay the views but there are other better hotels in Chora

A somewhat off-the-beaten path hotel up a daunting hill. But the pool, rooms, staff, and everything is well worth it. Great staff with a view!
