The Monastery has a history of 720 years! Its location with panoramic views! The temple with the frescoes is wonderful! Awe at the pilgrimage of the appellate icon of Panagia Olympiotissa! Lots of love from the nuns!

Very nice monastery I visited yesterday

A beautiful monastery with a very mystical ancient Byzantine church. If you are passing through Elassona it is worth going to visit it but I do not recommend going there on purpose. Of greater interest are the meteors

Based on the historical and archeological data, the katholikon of the monastery dates back to the end of the 13th century. during the reign of Emperor Andronikos II. The monastery was originally dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior. Later, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was celebrated. The name Olympiotissa is due to the icon of the Virgin Mary that was transferred from a monastery of Karya at the foot of Olympus.
