Von Stalida sind es bis zum Kloster ca. 3 km und ca. 400 höhenmeter zu bewältigen.
Nach dem Kloster noch ca. 1,5 km bis zur Ortsmitte von Mochos.
Der zentrale Platz mit Kirche und mehreren Restaurants ist sehenswert.
Nice old hiking trail to the monastery near Mochos.
From Stalida to the monastery it is approx. 3 km and approx. 400 meters in altitude to master.
After the monastery about 1.5 km to the center of Mochos.
The central square with the church and several restaurants is worth seeing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Zustand des Weges ist langsam in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch gut begehbar. Über die Autobahn geht eine bemerkenswerte Brücke in „schwindelnder“ Höhe. Der Ausblick während des gesamten Auf-bzw. Abstieges entschädigt für alles. In dem Kloster Mochos leben heute noch 12 romanische Nonnen! Kirche und kleiner Shop sind sehenswert. Ich wage, die 400 Höhenmeter anzuzweifeln, zumindest kam es mir mehr vor. Der Aufstieg dauert auch für Ungeübte ca. eine Stunde! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Descent compensates for everything. 12 Romanesque nuns still live in Mochos Monastery today! Church and small shop are worth seeing. I dare to doubt the 400 meters in altitude, at least it felt more to me. The ascent takes about an hour, even for the inexperienced! Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went from Stalis up the road- all signposted easy to follow- I got to the main Cretan highway but then the fence was blocked to go any further to Moxos… not sure if I could’ve jumped the fence…
