Mountain Refuge in Parnitha, Attica. Both accessible on foot or by car. Ascended from Athens. Easy hike, nearly 2-3 hours. Haven't stayed there overnight, but used the facilities to rest and continue my hike. The view is really nice if the weather allows (no clouds). As far as I am concerned, services are also fine and for sure you will enjoy your stay especially during winter. Rooms are really nice and cozy. However, keep in mind that this is not the average Greek mountain refuge. It is much more luxurious and offers wider range of services in relevant prices. Recommended!

Near town. Nice walking to it through Parnitha mountain. You can select various routes. Decent restaurant having a great look of the city!

Good location and perfect view. BUT HUGE TIP! If you don’t like dogs prefer to avoid going. People bring their dogs with them and because it’s a bit crowded, dogs bark like crazy, and unfortunately I witnessed a dog biting a child.

A breath away from Athens, this spot can leave you breathless with its striking view - a big part of the Attica Basin! Enjoying some fresh air in the balcony and surrendering to nature's magic, you'll forget -even for a while- about the urban life's intensity. I visited it on a sunny day and it was marvelous. I'm sure it's more adventurous to end up here when it's snowing. ?

Really nice place! A way out of athens just next to the city. As it is not a hotel though the heating in the rooms doesn’t work all day and night so you need to bring warm bedding’s for the night.

An amazing Refuge, located at an amazing location. Parnitha is less than an hours time away from the center of Athens. Athenians but visitors as well can take a brake and visit Parnitha and the refuge. Lots of things to see, and great food at Mpafi refuge! You will meet dears (which you MUST NOT feed unless it’s carrots or green stuff they can digest) and good people with their families enjoying the scenery and fresh air!

The name "Mpafi",in Greek, might sound a bit suspect, but it is indeed a very nice place with breathtaking scenery and the forest around it has great biodiversity. You should definitely visit in the Winter, especially when its snowing or has snowed. As for the restaurant the menu consists of 3-4 dishes on the daily depending on the day and , let's just say that you won't get much bang for your buck, both quantity and quality wise. Unfortunately I did not stay in any of the rooms as it was a day-trip. Slight heads up, it can get very difficult to drive back down in the late afternoon/night time due to the accumulation of extremely thick fog forming around the mountain.
