★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the beach with friendly staff !! Very close to the center of the vilage that you can find anything you need !! 100 meters from the main road and bus stop and the tourist office Auto Motor Maleme for rentals, tours and transfers!!

The host is helpful, yet forgot to mention air show that happens every year and we experienced the whole range of stress emotions when in the middle of a sleepy Sunday we saw (and hear, terribly loud sound of F-16) a fighter jet maikibg circles above our heds. Our 3 y. o. daughter was crying and very scared and it took a week for her to get over any loud noise and it takes now a lot of work to get her into an airplane. Apart from fighter jets once a year on 20 May, the hotel is kids friendly, the swimming pools has kids area, there is a playground next to the hotel and a pony :) Tavernas next to the hotel serve good food, we liked both: Mythos restaurant and taverna Malame. If you need a supermarket, non-touristic one is about 5-7 minutes walking, two touristic are about 50 meters from the hotel. You can get to Chania by bus in about 30 minutes, but if you want to see more, it is necessary to rent a car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice apartment building in Maleme, 6 km from Platanias: the complex is beachfront, with a pool, and a restaurant right in front (despite that, you won't hear any noise at night, so no issues with sleeping). Gym is in the basement, along with a common washing machine at guests' disposal. Apartments equipped with kitchen, TV, oven, terrace, air conditioning, hairdryer.
Free Parking available on site. The owner is very handy and helpful. Very good value for money. Highly recommended!!
