K	Konstantinos Tsimouris on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must-visit place! The first ever observatory of Greece that dates back to the early 1900s. A great tour that gives a lot of info for the observatory itself as well as its founders and research that was done here. The tour includes a view to the stars with the vintage telescope that is still functioning perfectly on top of the hill of the Nymphs, plus a comprehensive discussion with your tour guide about the Kythera mechanism in the premises of the observatory’s museum. Regular tickets are 5€ per person.

Guided tours (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday) cost 5 euros and include a tour at the old and beautiful building of the National Observatory and also at the newer building. Depending on the weather conditions you may be able to observe the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter through the telescope (unlikely due to the COVID restrictions not directly, but through a camera attached at the lens). What is really cool about the visit is that the tours happen after the sunset, and a little bit the dark and beautiful lighting of the building, and a little bit the stars, all these give you a very nice, mysterious feeling.

Look out onto the whole of Athens from the sea to the far edges of the city, its truly inspiring. Unfortunately not that accessible so if you have mobility problems you won't be able to see the entire view, but still worth heading up at sunset or sundown. As with all these areas it's a little spoilt by ugly buildings that seem to be built to be only cheap and functional, no thought given to where they are. But if you can ignore the tat, ugly buildings, litter, and a slight edge of neglect you can enjoy a view you will remember for many a long year.

Great way to learn about history and astronomy, and (if the weather is good) to observe the sky. Only 5€ for the tour, offered in Greek and English (see photo for schedule).

The guide was very cool, but due to the bad weather we were not able to view through the telescope. I was kind of disappointed that we didnt even see the telescope, contrary to other observatories.
