The service was 10 out of 10 and the food was absolutely perfect. All local ingredients everything made from scratch the authentic way. We were treated like family from start to finish. You will love this place weather it’s a date night or a family outing. Plenty of vegan options too!!

A great experience overall, and a very tasty food!! I will definitely be coming back. The restaurant is also very pretty, in the Greek traditional Taverna style. Very well located, in the heart of downtown Rethymno! 5/5 stars!

Then we had Garlic bread, Tzatziki, and Dakos for starter. All amazing and special in their own ways. For the main dish we had lamb kleftiko and sea bream fish. Both fantastic especially the fish was fresh and super tasty. We end the journey with some cheesecake on the house and raki. All in all a great evening.
D	David Anderson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I cannot sing loudly enough the praises of Othonas; it is too wonderful. Along a well traveled street in the Old Town and perfect for people watching and enjoying a meal outside, it is not a tourist trap. It is an authentic Cretan culinary experience with impeccable service. The wine list was impressive but not overwhelming with options from Crete and Greece as well as elsewhere. The grilled vegetables were perfectly charred without being a mess and came with grilled pineapple and orange as well. The salad was a delight; with a wide variety of vegetables, figs, pomegranate, avocado, and delicately smoked pork (apakia) and they are happy to adjust to taste. The shrimp in tarragon garlic and brandy sauce was perfectly cooked and delicious and my lamb shank was fall off the bone tender. All this said two aspects deserve their own review: the dessert and the incredible service. The corn meal dough lightly fried and served with orange blossom infused honey was an illumination. We were near in tears. The chef and several waiters who regularly visited our table insisted we try the in house baklava and we're so glad we did we took a dozen more the next day to share with friends. The staff were so responsive and kind and knew exactly what to suggest. You will find yourself in no better hands than those at Othonas.

D	Demetres Stordopoulos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was incredible. Fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and fantastic dishes. The attention to details was the cherry atop the proverbial cake, though. The catalog clearly displayed if a dish had dietary restrictions (e.g. gluten), which made it easy for us to order food. The restaurant only uses olive oil when they need to use oil, even for the fried food. In general, the food was incredibly tasteful and healthy, and we all felt full, but not bloated. Finally, the waiters were fast and attentive. Five stars. I would definitely come back when I visit Rethimno in the future.

I would come back here in a heartbeat and would 15/10 recommend it to anyone coming to Rethymno. Service was beyond amazing, and the host Pannos made us feel like family. It felt like we were coming home. Best French fries I’ve had in my life. Dolmas were stunning. It’s just really high quality ingredients made really f*cking well.
