★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hard to find. It is as if it is not meant to be visited. The view worths the trip though! Accurate location in Google maps will help in the hunt

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful to walk around the ruïns of Odysseus' Castle. Although it is a bit hard to find. You need to know you have to follow the 'Archaeological site "School of Homer"'. And even when you arrive, you need to follow the path for a few minutes until you find the actual buildings. No information boards or signs are given at the site itself, but in the central square of Stavros is a small park dedicated to Odysseus and his Castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some buildings reasonably well preserved, Archaeological digs of the past are evident but no preservation. Access is by foot, old board walks are now collapsed but worth the visit if this is the Palace of Odysseus

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fascinating site. Anyone interested in the Odyssey and the Mycenean period should visit. Unattended, but possible to visualise the buildings. Stavros town square has a model impression.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little tricky to find. This is directly above the school of Homer. To the left of the school of Homer is a flight of steps with a wooden post labelled with various walks. We couldn't find the fountain from there but following up the steps we arrived at the ruins which at first sight from the path look like ruins of a farm house. It is on the right as you go up the path.
If you come up from the school of Homer where the brown clear signage is you will go up on the righthand side. The actual palace is on your left when you see tin roofing on the ground. What looks like a sheep track on your left will lead you there.
Also bring a torch if you have kids. To the right of the School of Homer sign is a tiny cave. It took two phones to dimly light it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting site, somewhere between myth and history. The archeological excavations have stopped since 2014, unfortunately.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place along with School of Homer are almost impossible to find. Despite reviews here with instructions we couldn’t find the entrance and nor could two other families who came up in cars around the same time and were equally lost. We all gave up in the end. Very disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Getting into the palace was a struggle and slightly confusing. The gate connected to the 6 foot tall fence is locked. The easiest entrance is before you get to the fence area. There is a thin wooden stick sign and some steps, what take you up to a hole in the fence.
