★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Corinth Canal (Isthmus of Corinth) is a man-made canal, one of the oldest in the world, built to cut short the route of ships by connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf, therefore separating the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, turning it into an island!
It was completed in 1893, it is 6.4 kilometers long, has a depth of 8m, width of 21m, and is surrounded by 51m height walls.
And, while it's quite narrow, making it impossible for many large vessels to cross, it is vital to many smaller recreational boats entering the Aegean Sea, as they save a journey of 185 nautical miles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This bridge is terrifying if you are scared of heights. There is actually binging jumping in this location (see picture). If you are lucky, you will also be able to see a ship passing through.
