D	Doris Laut on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very friendly staff and the food was great! We had the moussaka, spicy feta from the oven and the filled wine leaves. Perfectly spiced, good portions and the prices are good, too. You have a great view over the sea and the whole beach as well.

Of all the restaurants in Matala, the food is probably the most traditional and with very good prices. Leaving here makes you want to return every evening. Without even trying other restaurants.

A slice of toasted cheese (free) while you wait for your order is a nice touch too. Best pork loin to be had in Matala! complete with Blue cheese sauce one of the many superb dishes served. Mousaka comes in all shapes and sizes across Greece, this Cretian dish comes in a deep pot dish! Chicken Schnitzel coated with a Tempura type batter a total delight. This Taverna is one not to be missed when visiting Matala.

I didn’t like crunchy cheese and grilled squid. Nice view. The service was polite but not excellent, and maybe a little bit unprofessional, and they didn’t give us raki, surprisingly, everywhere in Crete we received this kind of compliment for dessert.
