Quick boat trip from Athens to Aegina. Very pretty and not too busy.

A very tranditional port on the side of the city of Aegina. Nice tranditional buildings many of them restored, many coffee shops and a lot of place to stroll.

Once the ship/ferry reaches the port, you are greeted with a wonderful city landscape. Upon leaving the boat, you can visit a small white and blue Greek Orthodox church. Nearby, there is a convenient bus stop, cafes, restaurants and shops.

It's a beautiful island. Definitely a must go. The harbor, the coast, the narrow flowered streets and the seaside restaurants and cafes are wonderful. Food is very good and cheap. The wiew is wonderful. ?A perfect island?

It is simple port but two options for departure. I was missing a timetable and any informations for arrival and leaving. My ferry arrived and started on time but I had to get informations from people. They were kind and helpful so I could find my ferry ? While I was waiting I watched around the port ?

Great area to get away from the main city of Athens, you can get here via the Slow Ferry for around €9-€12 approximately or the fast ferry (Flying Dolphin) for €15.50. They have good beaches as well and the view and waters are brilliant. You must try and buy their famous pistachios, their is a shop close to an ATM machine that allows you to taste them before buying, highly recommended that place as they're very accommodating and helpful with recommendations. The island have other great site seeing destinations that you can visit via taxi or bus/coach (the bus/coach only takes cash so please make sure you have with you, one way is around €1.60-€2, you can ask them for the return times so you wont miss you journey back to Athens for the ferry). Taxi varies by route but you can try and make a deal with the driver as well.

Such a beautiful port city. We took the time over a few days to stroll around the little alleys visit stores and sit down on a few cafe’s and restaurants. We visited over the pistachio festival which was tasteful and we bought some delicacies. Overall, it’s very picturesque and lovely Avenue recommend visiting it. It’s also very close to the port of Piraeus in Athens.
