Very beautiful gorge and very narrow, enchanting and verdant passage. Because there is no path, the river itself is the path, it is dangerous to cross it in rainy season. In April, however, there was no drop. It is good to start from Roca and go down, which goes smoothly to the end, because we who took it all from the beginning to the exit, encountered terrible difficulties (after Roca to the north). Giant and smooth rocks from the constant friction of the water, have blocked the opening, changing the altitude 2-3 meters and without a rope one can not go down, of course not even to go back ... The songs of the birds are heard very loudly because of narrow passage and accompany the walker all the way. Another beautiful place in Kissamos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ausgangspunkt: Rokka
Starting point: Rokka
There is also archeology on the slope, supposedly 3rd century. n.C. - (Relics of rock houses, clearly visible and partly accessible).
If you look from up there "over the railing", you can clearly see the serpentine path that leads down into the gorge.
When we arrived at the bottom, we turned left. From time to time you can see blue markings on rocks.
Wild path in the river bed, which after about 45 minutes can no longer be walked or climbed without a rope. On the one hand that was a shame, on the other hand we saw at least 10 eagles soaring on the way back - pure nature.
Back in Rokka - unfortunately the kafenion was closed - we met 2 hikers who wanted to hike the gorge in the other direction, i.e. up towards Deliana. After 60 minutes without a rope, the two of them could no longer progress and have also reversed.
From my point of view, it is essential to only walk with good shoes, a head for heights is an advantage, a stick is helpful. I wouldn't call the path a walk.
On the way back we drove through Deliana and saw a sign of another gorge on the right-hand side in the direction of Kissamos - maybe this is the "walk gorge" ...?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice hike between Rokka and Deliana. Terrain is very even and rocky as you're hiking a riverbank. Some very nice parts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've started the gorge at Deliana near the "Metamorphose" church and we walked to Rokka. Some parts of the gorge are very rocky, you have to do a bit of climbing (with your hands and feet). So not an easy hiking trail. The way up to Rokka is hard to find. There is a smal white sign on your left, easy to miss when you are walking down the gorge. It's a steep trail up to Rokka. After the first bench, go up and turn right to the old Village of Rokka (that is where the exit is) A Greek told us you can also go al the way down the gorge.
Beautiful scenery and very quiet, about 2 hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A moderate 2h walk between the villages of Rokka and Deliana. The exits are not marked. From Rokka head towards Ancient Rokka (marked) and turn right about 100m from the square and go through a gate. The path is very steep. The gorge has little elevation BUT all of it is walking on large stones so you need decent shoes. Some parts close to Deliana require use of arms. When you reach a bridge, climb on it and head left, up the hill towards Deliana. The Faragi Tavern has very good food at reasonable prices. You can then walk back to Rokka using the road, which take about 90min. Avoid the gorge if there is a risk of serious rain. I expect the river can fill with water pretty quickly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful Gorge but difficult to locate. There are no signs or anything to indicate the entry of the gorge. You basically have to park at the Church. Walk down the dirt road and when you reach the bridge you have to climb down the riverbank underneath the bridge and begin to walk through the rough terrain. There are also no signs or anything so you basically must stick to the riverbank to not get lost. We liked it a lot as locals since it seems not to be visited at all even during summer, but it will be difficult for tourists or others who feel uncomfortable opening gates or feel like they are trespassing when walking though a sheep hoard.
