Marinos was an awesome tour guide! Want an unforgettable trip. I did the full day land rover safari through Crete and we visited many of the small villages and the Cave of Zeus in mountainous Crete! Very excellent and will recommend to friends and family.

Thank you Safari Club of Crete for providing an absolutely fabulous experience of traditional Crete by way of a land rover trek into the mountains along steep dusty off-road trails with spectacular views. Our guide Sam was an exceptional guide, easy to talk to, very conversant of the area, a good sense of humour and a pleasure to be in his company. He is an asset to the Safari Club and we heartily thank him for his attention to detail. We cannot recommend this trip enough, it will give you memories you will never forget, meeting real people who work the land. Read more about the itinerary on the website and just go for it. We had an amazing trip with Safari Club Crete! It was a fantastic day out and a great way to see the island and learn more about the Cretan history and culture. We were picked up directly from our Airbnb at 9:15 which was super convenient! We were only 4 guests in our Land Rover, so the ride was very comfortable! You’re required to wear a mask while inside the LR, so we felt very safe. We did the Katharo route, which took us on a full day adventure through small villages, into the mountains, to caves and all over the area near Agios Nikolaos and central Crete - mountains, villages and plateaus. We went to many small villages to learn about what Cretan village life means - living off of the land, respecting and celebrating your history and culture. We saw a lot of wildlife too - vultures, eagles and goats! We had many stops to taste the local delicacies - olive oil, cheese, olives, and honey. The only downside of the day was the lunch, which left a bit to be desired. It’s a very simple taverna lunch, but I would have loved to see a knock-out lunch (alas, this is not a food tour!). The highlight for me was visiting the birthplace of Zeus, a beautiful cave full of history, which also gave us the opportunity to climb off some of our lunch wine! Our guide, Geoff, a British expat who now calls Crete his home, had a huge amount of knowledge for and appreciation of the Cretan culture. He was very helpful and informative throughout our day! None of the tour seemed too touristy or kitschy - it was a real, authentic, off-the-beaten path experience. If you have had your share of beaches, tavernas, and cocktails - check out this tour for an authentic and educational and FUN day!

What an amazing day! Geoff was so knowledgable and made the entire trip so interesting and fun, really going that extra mile to make sure we had a great time. He didnt just spit a rehearsed bit of information at you but instead you got this beautiful cretian history and knowledge that fit in with the entire trip, with plenty of opportunities for questions, stops and history! A real true insight to Crete that I highly recommend. One of the best excursion experiences I have had.

Monday 13/06/22. Great day and experience with safari club 4x4 today Into the mountains with Geoff. Very informative all day with interesting facts and jokes along the way,lunch in the mountains @ a local Taverna ( food and drink all included, TUI don't inform you on their app). Well worth ago. A fantastic trip and day out, driver was (goat killer) Gary, great guy extremely knowledgeable throughout the trip and a great laugh, good food for dinner and the wine wasn't bad either, would recommend this trip to anyone, we had great company in the Land rover as well. First class

Most amazing experience of our lives!!! We had an English tour with Gary. He was so knowledgeable and got us all involved in stuff. Showed us different plants and birds. He let Me and my partner get married (I have googled its not true but was still an experience. Would've been bad if we were siblings lol). Honestly would go back to crete just for this tour with Gary. Made friends with the others on our tour and made memories for life. So so grateful for the whole experience and it's a great value for money.

Great trip with Jason. Informative and funny. Kept the chat and information going throughout the trip. Tasters on wine, cheeses and olive oils. Made a pot (with a lot of help) and the lunch was lovely. Good selection of starters, chicken, pork potatoes for main then fresh fruit. Plenty of water, red or white wine and soft drinks all included. Lots of photo stops. We both had a really good time and would recommend it to anyone. The road is the one you drive on.
