★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Agios Nikolaos es un templo relativamente pequeño en tamaño, pero no en la historia, ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, muy cerca del puerto. Según la inscripción en la entrada, la iglesia fue trasladada del centro de la ciudad al puerto en 1713, a petición del astrólogo de la flota veneciana, Agustín Sagredos. Eligió este lugar fuera de las murallas de la ciudad, junto al mar ya que el templo estaba dedicado a los marineros. Además de estar dedicado a San Nicolás, también lo está a los Santos Apóstoles y tres sumos sacerdotes.
Sin embargo, la iglesia actual, que se refiere al tipo de basílica con techo plano, data de 1836 y en su interior se puede admirar el iconostasio tallado en madera y el púlpito.
El trono, el candelabro central (de arte ruso) y los grandes íconos de los años 1848-1849, obras del conocido y talentoso hagiógrafo John Dimadis, destacan por su valor artístico. La fachada y los campanarios son adiciones posteriores.

Agios Nikolaos is a relatively small temple in size, but not in history, located in the center of the city, very close to the port. On December 6, the port authorities of the city of Nafplion celebrate with great magnificence the feast of Saint Nicholas, the patron saint, with the procession of the miraculous icon of the saint, as well as his holy relic, which is kept in the temple.
