Nice gorge very picturesque but due to the weather conditions it has changed a bit and is a little more inaccessible .. degree of difficulty I will say 2 is not 1 as stated on some sites but it is worth a visit who can go and return of course as it does not offer a circular route .... first you park in the church of the parishioner and you will see in front of the church below a sign that time has eaten and you follow the signs that you will see below and the gorge begins! Within 2 hours you have reached the end and if you want to go to the ancient polyrrhina I would suggest to go another time as it is many kilometers to go back and of course if you go do not walk back from the main road but again prefer the gorge gt the kilometers escape and it is all uphill! It is worth a visit and it is marked in some places and if you follow the signals well you will not lose!

Molto selvaggia e naturale. Sentiero percorribile ma non segnalato.
Stunning gorge with a chance to see vultures. Very wild and natural. Path accessible but not marked.

A very nice and completely empty (from people) gorge full of goats. It has a small parking lot at the southern entrance (next to the chapel with the cemetery) and the northern entrance (in front of the chapel) Note - the restaurant was closed in Sirikari in May.

Sirikari is one of the easier gorges on Crete, and makes a pleasant half-day hike. The gorge is usually accessed from the hamlet of Sirikari (no facilities at present), following a path from near the cemetery down to the valley floor where there is a small stream that runs much of the year. It’s then an easy trek along footpaths beside the stream (and sometimes a way above it) through the gorge itself, which soon broadens out into a valley. Follow the path, which becomes a track and reach a narrow road that leads up to the village of Polyrrinia, where you should find a welcoming cafe. No special clothing is required. In the gorge itself the route is shaded by trees, but the last section through olive groves is quite exposed, so a hat is worthwhile. In spring, the fields just below Sirikari at the start of the walk are full of orchids and fritillaries; if you’re a botanist it can take as long to cover the first few hundred metres as the rest of the walk, but botanists will probably be familiar with that experience!

Not as spectacular as Samaria but if you're looking for another place for a walk its a good option. Don't be scared of closed gate. Just untie the line. Takes ~2h.

One of our favorite gorges and hiking areas. The path is very well maintained. It took us about 4.30 hours to cross it and back to the car. We did take a lot of breaks to rest and take in the views. Beautiful scenery and easy relaxing walk.
