★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, the good: staff is friendly and professional. Yes they try to sell you extra insurance but they do this anywhere in Greece. Just say no and use your credit card insurance if there is a damage.
Then the bad: I booked 10 days a opel astra/golf class. What I got was a fiat tipo with pleanty of scratches all over. No sixt, a fiat is not a opel/golf class even if the size is the same. It was probably the worst car I ever drove. It probably also cost 25% less then any of these named models and since I paid quite a premium price for this adventure I am not aumused.
I used sixt pleanty of times but it won't be again at the airport in Thessaloniki.

Maybe its gonna be helpful for all to know, Sixt is ONLY rent a car agency in Thesaloniki which will exept Maestro debit card for deposit.
We actually booked another rent a car, wich I don't know how, bloked our credit card, so we was forced to search for another and Sixt was only one wich accepted maestro debit card.
Stuff was really helpful, wery friendly and I can say all the best. The whole process picking up and returning the car, was no longer then 5 minutes , and deposit for 2 days was only 100euro, wich was returned to my debit card when we brought the car back.
Recommended!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We rented a car at Sixt several weeks before we went on holiday. We needed the car to go from Thessaloniki to Bansko (Bulgaria) and I added that information to my reservation. To be 100% sure I also mailed Sixt if border crossing with the rental car would be allowed. And their answer was: no problem! But only a few hours before departure Sixt phoned me that this was NOT possible! Last minute we had to arrange an expensive taxi transfer to Bulgaria because Sixt let us completely down, and no compensation was given for their mistake.

They ensured I understood the paperwork and how to operate the vehicle and how to pay tolls in Greece. I would recommend their team for your travels in Thessaloniki and more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best experience of car rent. First time we rent car in January- I booked Mercedes A class or similar , but when we arrived they give us Audi q3 diesel and it was like a miracle. Second be time we rent car in February and it was so easy to extend car far from rental office just with email.
All the times staff was perfect in doing their service.
I express my deep gratitude to the administration for their attitude regarding the lease when we had to face the war in our country.
To be objective I can say about only one inconvenience- very expensive deposit for cars, but for additional insurance it down 10 times and after that u can be calm no matter what happens to the car, because your maximum payment, even in the event of a severe accident, will not exceed 70 euros. And taking into account the narrow streets and possible exits from the roads to the beaches, it is better not to skimp on an additional 200-300 euros for rent (which, by the way, is one of the lowest with a fairly high quality and technical condition of the cars themselves). For example, in Dubai, a BMW wheel scratched on a curb cost 150 euros and 500 euros for a bumper torn off in a parking lot.
So I recommend Sixt wholeheartedly
