Very disorganised…
Rude and racist staff.
Missing English knowledge..
Very disappointing picture of Hertz Hellas .
I have been treated so badly..
bad reputation for the company , not recommended at all .
The kindness and the staff there never come across…
No any customer service at all..
they blend you for the mistakes of them ..
No manners at all to serve global tourism.
So disappointed…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ we book in advance but not sure if it matters. directly on airport is office, more agents available so we did not wait, we get brand new car with 1500 km (so then I had to clean it up well before return), the transfer to 500m parking via hertz shuttle was immediate, car was already started and airconditioned (that fascinate me), the return also super fast (more agent awailable) received only confirmation car was ok and it was done. I was looking for many different car rentals but this I found ok and price reasonable, then I was surprised about service level, I do not understand lower ratings on google maps. for me it was perfect experience. maybe I was lucky

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was OK, except for a blonde lady who seemingly knew no other words than "you need to pay now", "how are you paying", "pay right now",... at check-out, as there was veeery minor damage on the car which i am not convinced was my fault. She wouldn't really speak about proof or anything, so it felt pretty impolite.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible experience. We paid extra to get a luxury car and received an old car. Our Audi Q3 was more than 4 years old(!), had no USB slots, no sat Nav, no cruise control. We asked to replace it for a newer car and although they had many other cars in the parking lot they said they are all reserved. We couldn’t cancel, couldn’t get a discount.
Very very disappointed that this is the level of service from Hertz.
(EDIT): looking at Hertz’s response below it’s easy to see that they chose not to relate to my main claim - their fleet is OLD! No other car rental give you 4.5 year old cars. Stay away from these fraudsters!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service and good honest car hire. The cars are very good quality and Covid measures are excellent. The staff are very efficient and helpful with a friendly service. Specially Barry’s and the lady ( can’t remember her name see photo) at the hand over / collection point . Very fast and professional service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing experience with faulty vehicles and bad customer service. Try another rental agency.
We rented a van for one week to go from Thessaloniki to Athens.
The first van we obtained was a bit weathered, and after half a day's use the check engine light turned on. We called the agency that told us to keep going as this could be a false alarm. 30km later the engine lost almost all power.
We then dragged ourselves to the Hertz agency in Kavala for them to provide us with a car to drive back to Thessaloniki, get a new van, drive again to Kavala with the van to get our stuff and then continue our travel : 6 hours of driving in a day due to Hertz's deficient vehicle.
Overall a day's worth of holidays absolutely ruined and a compensation by Hertz of 50€ (less than a third of what our rental cost per day) which barely compensates the 20€ of tolls we had to pay to go back and forth between Thessaloniki and Kavala.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have booked a car from Hertz Airport several times over the past few years and I am glad to say that their service has always been improving. My latest experience (importantly, with my family) was a new clean car, friendly and efficient service and polite staff. Special shout out to Christos the van driver who was very helpuful despite our gazillion luggage.
Hope they keep it up, looking forward to my next no fuss visit to Thessaloniki.
