Best Car rental agency in Greece

N	Nate Beckett on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Known as one of the better rental companies in Santorini, we had no issues with hiring a small automatic car from Spiridakos. Being a very quiet time of year, they gave us a really good deal. Essentially we got an automatic in high season for the price of a manual in low season. You do need to allow an additional €10-20 for the additional insurance and, like anywhere, check the car thoroughly. Take photos before leaving, and check the lights and wipers. The only negative was that they gave us the car with almost zero fuel, and told us to return it that way. Everyone knows it's extremely difficult to intentionally return a car with an empty tank!

As a deposit they enter your credit card details on a blank check, so that they can write down an x amount for any damage. the car itself was worthless. dents and scratches everywhere. The technical condition was terrible. Find another rental company!

Spiridakos will bring the car to your location then promptly take you back to your accommodation after you’ve dropped the vehicle off at the main car rental office. The child seat was adequate but took a few minutes to install. If we were to drive at speeds above 30 kmh I would have hesitated with this particular child seat. Expect to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel you started with. Getting gas on the island is super simple; pull up to a pump and allow the attendant to fill the tank to your specified amount. The car was clean enough and the a/c was nice and cold. I would rent from here again.

However the experience with them was perfect! They picked me up from the hotel and gave the car after signing the contract. When dropping off the vehicle, they allowed us to leave our luggages in their office while we explore Fira and arranged us transfer to the airport (free of charge). They were really nice and helpful. Even encouraged us to take a video and photos of the damage already on the car before we took it and had no problems with returning the car. They inspected the car during drop off but no problems. Would definitely recommend. Not sure if the reviews had some factors like a bad salesman but my experience does not reflect what the reviews had me concerned about.

L	Lionel Lee on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rented a car from here in the last minute, and same as the comment written by Rezwan, I was bit concerned about the awful comments written previously. But I simply have no choice (more details in the end of the comment). It turned out that they are a pretty decent company. I got a nice little automatic car (with touchscreen central panel and rear cam) with very competitive price. On the day of returning the car, the staff did a quick inspection and finished the procedure within 5 mins. Nice car, nice staff, nice experience. I seldom write comment but I think it is necessary to give them what they deserve. Regarding why I rented my car here in the last minute: Originally, I booked and pre-paid a car from Hertz (via Rentalcars.com). I chose to pick up the car from "Fira downtown", and received a confirmation letter stating "Fira downtown" as the pick-up location. And I only found out that the Hertz office in Fira downtown does not exist anymore when I stood on the street of Santorini (and that was where I found Spiridakos). And the customer service line of Rentalcars.com was never answered. If you google "Herz Fira Downtown", you will get more stories like me. Anyway, I wish anyone who read this comment would have a nice road trip with a decent car in Santorini.
