Spiti Stelios - North Side

Spiti Stelios was by far the best holiday home we've ever rented, and for many reasons! Communication with Carolyn was super friendly and easy from the start. She never tired of answering all our questions to make us feel welcome before we even got to there. On site, Ester made us just as welcome with all kinds of useful tips you can only get from a local, including some Greek food to get us started, availability whenever needed throughout our stay and a warm goodbye at the end. The location of Spiti Stelios is just amazing, and every step you take up the hill to get there is worth it. Just take a breath from time to time and enjoy the stunning views across the island! The house itself is truly special and authentic, beautifully renovated by its owners with respect to its Cycladic architecture, and extremely well kept. It is tastefully furnished and spotless, equipped with just the right amount of the good and useful things (and far from being cluttered with things you often get but never need in a holiday home...). So we truly appreciated the inside of the house and the two courtyards, but the highlight of Spiti Stelios is definitely its spacious roof terrace with an almost 360 degree view of the island. Be it in the early morning hours, for sunsets or late at night - sitting there and just marvelling at the view from our private front row seat was the best part of our Santorini holiday! Of course we went to many of the sights Santorini has to offer, and to the beautiful beaches nearby, but we always loved to come back to the quiet of Spiti Stelios, leaving the hustle of the island behind and still being at its heart somehow. We particularly enjoyed the picturesque alleyways of beautiful Pyrgos, where every turn is worth a photo stop (starting right at the doorstep of Spiti Stelios), and we especially loved the atmosphere at Kantouni's and Brusco's in easy-going Pyrgos Square. So we say thank you to the lovely people who made our stay such an unforgettable experience! We will definitely be back to Pyrgos and Spiti Stelios some day.
