I just like how it looks at night. That's it. Apart from that, I don't mind about its historical value.

Theodoros Kolokotronis, who lived from April 3, 1770 to Feb. 4, 1843, is undoubtedly the ultimate symbol of the Greek War of Independence, which took place from 1821 to 1830. More than any other individual, he is the man who completely embodied the battle cry “Liberty or Death”.

One of the iconic generals in Greek modern history, Theodoros Kolokotroni, the statue sits before the old parlament building that is now the historical museum, it is one you should know as a Greek or a tourist that visit the city because in almost every city around Greece you will found a street on his name.

Great little square at the center of Athens. It is in from of the old (and first) parliament building which is now a national museum. A must visit and a cool bonus if you go during the day you might see the green parrots that leave in this square! ??

Theodore Kolokotronis is a Greek national hero, who helped Greece gain her independence during the 1821 revolution against the Ottoman empire. Kolokotronis health shape the newly formed nation of Greece. How unfortunate though that politicians that came into power locked him in jail, a disgraceful move that shames Greece even today.

Impressive statue of an impressive man! Theodoros Kolokotronis was a Greek General who was instrumental in defeating the Ottoman Empire, resulting in Greek Independence in 1829. I think the inscriptionon the pedestal is veryinspiring: “Ride on, oh Brave General, on the back of your horse, teaching the nations through the centuries, as to how slaves can become free men."
