Kolokotronis health shape the newly formed nation of Greece. How unfortunate though that politicians that came into power locked him in jail, a disgraceful move that shames Greece even today.

Theodoros Kolokotronis was a Greek General who was instrumental in defeating the Ottoman Empire, resulting in Greek Independence in 1829. I think the inscriptionon the pedestal is veryinspiring: “Ride on, oh Brave General, on the back of your horse, teaching the nations through the centuries, as to how slaves can become free men."
