★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Την εποχή της ανεξαρτησίας της Δήλου (314-166 πχ.) οι ηγεμόνες των Ελληνιστικών Κρατών συναγωνίζονταν στην επιδεικτική οικοδόμηση λαμπρών κτιρίων στο Ιερό Νησί. Ο βασιλιάς των Μακεδόνων Φϊλιππος Ε' (εγγονός του Αντίγονου Γονατά) οικοδόμησε περί το 210πχ. την ομώνυμη Στοά. Λίγα χρόνια αργότερα, πίσω από την Στοά του Φιλίππου, προστέθηκε μία ακόμη Στοά, η Δυτική, ανοικτή στην προκυμαία και το λιμάνι, που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για εμπορικούς σκοπούς.
 At the time of the independence of Delos (314-166 BC) the rulers of the Hellenistic States competed in the ostentatious construction of magnificent buildings on the Holy Island. The king of the Macedonians Philip V (grandson of Antigonus Gonatas) built around 210 BC. the homonymous Stoa. A few years later, behind the Stoa of Philip, another Stoa was added, the Western one, open to the waterfront and the port, which was used for commercial purposes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing island, the energy her is amazing and the history is wonderful, I would recommend this to anyone. This Ishan is the birth place of Apollo, the sin of Zeus, one of the Greek gods, so you can imagine how powerful it was too walk around this place. There is also a museum and a snack bar and cafe. The island is uninhabited, but boat trips go there multiple times a day from the neighbouring islands ????
