If its quiet then get in there everything is cooked fresh and in front of you it's all delicious the fried mushrooms are brilliant

A truly fine restaurant, all local produce freshly prepared with the meats cooked to your choice. The host was most welcoming and spent time explaining the delights on the menu.

Great place, great food in really traditional way. Don't expect fancy decor and breathtaking views. Simplicity, cosiness and quality - these are the things you find in this place. When in Rome, do as Romans, when in Crete, do as locals ;)

This taverna is traditional with a twist of modern and you use a tick list to order your meal which is served meze style. Run by 2 young Cretan brothers who have a true passion for traditional food. If you walk past and fail to go in, more fool you. I'm not a lover of liver but we ordered it as part of our meal and WOW it blew my taste buds ! Amazing . All the meat was so tender and mouth watering . Can't fault the house wine either or the Raki at the end of the meal.

Being a new restaurant in a busy place is a challenge that brothers Vagelis and Iorgos are taking on head on. Add the 'off the beaten track' location to the mix and it's a tough one. But I have absolutely no doubt that they will make a success of it. To be honest, you don't need to read the rest of this review. Just go! You won't regret it. We arrived to a friendly welcome from Vagelis who introduced himself and his brother who is the chef. He brought us a simple check list menu and answered our questions about the various dishes. Our drinks came, followed by a steady flow of freshly prepared and cooked dishes. We had spiced feta, beetroot, mushrooms, saganaki cheese, bekri meze, meatballs and fried liver. These were accompanied by complimentary fresh bread and croutons all washed down with a really good white wine. When we asked about the place the guys enthusiastically told us their story giving us a small insight into their family and business. At the end of it all we were treated to some great raki and chatted with them over more drinks. We had a great evening and will definitely be returning to Stou Geraka! These guys deserve all the success their efforts will surely bring them. Please make sure you give them a try during your stay. Just turn down the street with the Antidote Bar on the corner and follow it round. We will be!
